highlights from my first ever PCGS submission

TrueViews just posted from a set of 20 coins I sent in for the Q1 reholder special. I've been at this for awhile but this was my first ever (direct) PCGS submission. Here are five favorites from the set:

Very nice!
Wow, great coins, I never get to signing up and submitting my coins, was it quick and easy to submit?
There was a bit of a learning curve between the different submission types, forms, and figuring out Registered Mail — but overall, worth it.

Thanks 😊, I was hoping to submit my 1921 peace dollar for conservation, got to sign up for that 👍.
Very nice! I especially like the color on your Pan-Pac $1. I recently got a coin slabbed at PCGS and I think the current Trueview images are great.
are you going to send the CAC back for resticker?
These are my favorite types of threads. All absolutely killer coins. That buffalo is wicked cool.

Really like the seated quarter proof, looks nice from the TV.

Kennedys are my quest...
It's one of my favorites. The TrueView captures what it looks like under direct, bright light — but it actually has a dark, almost ominous look to it when moved out of direct light. It's an incredibly dynamic coin that was once part of the A.J. Vanderbilt collection. Here is its "other" appearance — photos from a Stacks Bowers auction in 2018.

Wowza!
WTG!
I love that '53 dollar.

I'm glad I can actually see it now

Nice photos, but the stark difference between the TV and the Stacks photo of the 1868 is why I will never buy from a TV photo only when toners are involved.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Valid point. Credit to Stacks because they provided photos under both lighting situations.

Apologies if my comment sounded harsh it was not intended to be critical, I really like the coins you posted especially the 1868 as I really like seated coinage.

those are very nice looking coins. congrats!
Very nice coins and you have done very well. Thanks for the second picture of the 1868 to show the difference in photography. Cheers, RickO
That 1868nseated quarter proof is an incredibly special coin!!! The TV does not do it justice...
To me, from the photos it appears many of these coins are VERY conservatively graded @PocketChange . Have you considered sending some back to PCGS either via Reconsideration or Regrade?

Beautiful coins! I especially love the color on these two.
BTW, I hope you got the Mint colored box!
Very nice looking coins. Congratulations on a great submission outcome!
Dang!
One of those days you get humbled by an amazing cross section of coins!
Got to step up my game!

Hi Steven, I reserved a couple of coins to send in for Reconsideration or Regrade, but none in this set. I know you've had a lot of success earnings upgrades and especially + coins, so which of this group would you resubmit if you owned them? I'll be sending another set to PCGS later this year so if there's one or two you think they should take another look at let me know. Appreciate your thoughts.

It's tough to tell from photos. As noted, in general, sending in coins with whole grade numbers has a better chance of success with Reconsideration than sending in coions that already have a "+".
Good luck.
Steve

that Quarter Proof is making my pants tight
My PCGS profile
WOW! Those are some amazing coins! Like are you in need of a half a liver or a kidney? I will totaly trade those for that quarter!
IKR.... It's making my coin woodie got to full mast!
Not trying to hijack thread but why resubmit with reconsideration rather than regrade?
Very strict collector vetting here, congrats on the results.
They all look like winners.
Nice photos, but the stark difference between the TV and the Stacks photo of the 1868 is why I will never buy from a TV photo only when toners are involved.
the pictures show what the difference can be when images are taken absent the plastic of the slab.
Here's a few more from the submission:

Beautiful coins and thanks for sharing different images that highlight how photographic technique can make a world of difference.
I think your 1858 half was undergraded at AU50
Impressive bunch
You may be right, although it doesn't look like there's much of a value jump to 53 or even 55, so I'll probably leave it in the AU50 holder.

All are flat fantastic. Love the Seated quarter! Well done.
