Hi guys. I was searching for the "Coin Star" thread, what happened to it? I found a silver dime I wanted to share on the thread.
Oh well, here it is.1953d. First find in the machine for quite some time. Possible RPM? I'll be taking my scope to it later. Hopefully, the Horizontal d?

Nice find! I always check the return bin. Never know what you will find. I submitted a silver GW quarter and a Merc dime that I found last year and have since sold them.

My Coinstar finds in recent months have been few and far between. A silver find is always pleasant!
That's two silver coin finds in two days. The Dime , today, then a Quarter (1963d) in CRH yesterday.

When was the last time, somebody actually found a KEY coin in the Coin Star machine?
Ex:
1909s vdb Lincoln, 1916d Mercury, 1932 d or s Quarter, etc.?

Silver in the coinstar reject slot is a great find... I have found silver a few times...seems the machines do not like silver... A few dimes and two quarters over the years. Cheers, RickO
Silver gets rejected fairly often from Coinstar. I would think a copper cent would not unless it is damaged. It would most likely be the 1932-d or s quarter followed by the 1916-d dime and, possibly if the coin is bent or otherwise damaged, the 1909-S VDB. With that stated, I wouldn't be surprised if there never was a sighting of any of those scarcities out of a rejection bin in a Coinstar, although it is an interesting thought experiment using logic.
Now, like the scenario involving trillions of monkeys and trillions of typewriters given an infinite period of time- would one of them eventually type the King James Version of the Bible?
