That's the sorriest svdb I've seen in a long time.

That's a really poorly executed counterfeit. Probably from China.

This is for the new people that finds my post with this fake/counterfeit (or possible) 09S-VDB's.
I got burned on one of these about a year ago now, and in trying to work through getting my money back (partly at this point) I found this forum, was awaken to the reality of just how far the this world of fakes and counterfeiters has come.
That said, I finely made a deal on a real one from a PCGS certified dealer, but before I made that purchase I took a dive into trying to learn more about spotting a fake/counterfeit one. So, much so that even after I acquired one I found myself still looking for the fake and learning to spot them.
When I find one, (or a possible or likely fake) I post them here on the forum for learning purpose, discussion, with the possibility of one of the experts here contacting ebay and getting the listing taking down.
Thanks for looking over my post and leaving a comment.
    Mark

What would be a little more help is if in the comments they were things pointed out that direct attention to what specifically others see that's the giveaway to the coin be a fake or counterfeit that I may not have pointed out.
I did mark that die error on the left side Wheat Ear (reed). and I've seen limited information on what actually caused that, and that the counterfeiters got wise to that error and removed it from their later counterfeits/fakes.
Thanks for all the comments, its another way to expose this racket and preserve this hobby as much as possible.

    Still active with increased bid.
Anybody report it as a fake?

I find these and post them here and leave it up to the experts for final judgment and many of these that I've posted have led to the wind blowing and the listings being removed!
So, I post'em here and wait for the wind to blow & POOF the listings just disappear :)

Hmm. Should I buy this one, or the dateless buffalo nickel on eBay at a starting bid of 1000.00 Decisions decisions

The arrows are a dead giveaway.

Seriously, the details are not sharp. The color is off, and even the rims have some minor finning, which is not typical.

Well I only pointed out the first couple of things I saw, I did notice some of the other slop (muddy) in the details.
I'm surprised the listing is still up, but its still got several days before it ends.
I'm waiting for the wind to blow and the listing just disappears POOF!
Several of these that I've found and posted here were listed by sellers that don't have a high amount of feedback.

    Let me ask you this!
I'm thinking that collectors have been seriously searching for the best grade of this coin for over 100 years! (Genuine ones)
There was less than 500,000 minted making the coin very rare!
Where is this seller coming up with a EXTREMELY high grade one month after month, RAW (ungraded) with FULL BOW TIE?
I'm not calling his coins FAKE or counterfeit at present, but I am wondering if he's gotten a source of recently made High Grade counterfeit/Fakes that may not have the common counterfeit/fake flaws?
I went back through his feedback and he has sold several of these, it seems very fishy to me??
I'd like for a few of the experts here to maybe closely examine this coin.

Here is a case in point!
And I'm only questioning this, I'm not expert enough to debate it (I'm learning)
Here is three different ebay listings,
All three are High Grade 09S-VDB's (one graded)!
All three have the die chip in the upper loop of the S MM!
My question is about one of the ungraded ones, why does it have over detail of the crow's foot lines at the corner of the eye if it was struct from the same obverse die?
The second thing about the same one that I question is the the notch scissor looking cut at the ear lobe?

    The graded one,
Ear lobe rolls into the neck, the crows foot lines at the corner of the eye not so bold and fake looking!
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-S-VDB-1C-Lincoln-Wheat-Cent-MS-64RB-PCGS-Key-to-the-Series-Nice/114744657370?hash=item1ab75085da:g:RM8AAOSwaV9gYQ1H

    The first ungraded one,
Same detail at the corner of the eye and the ear lobe,
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-S-VDB-1C-Lincoln-Cent-Key-to-Series-Uncirculated-Beauty-Full-Bow-Tie-Rare/254923854733?hash=item3b5aa5538d:g:HHYAAOSwCVRgZN9U

    Now, the second ungraded one,
    Same die right?
    close to the same condition?
It doesn't seem to be lighting?
So, why the difference in those two areas of detail?
This just takes me back to the possibility of, is there another more modern higher grade counterfeit/fake that hasn't been detected yet?
