it weighs2.6 and the color is still copper not silver
sorry the pic is so close cant do it any other way right now
. but cant find error on line or in my books

    Show a photo of the entire coin. It is probably post mint damage caused by someone fooling around.

    And yet it is on a cent planchet. Think about it.

    There is significant damage just in the picture you've posted.

    I've got about 2 dozen more of those if you'd like to grossly overpay to corner the market. It was quite common for people to grid down cents to the size and shape of a dime to work as transit tokens.

    1979 is a little late but still likely that it was filed down to work as a dime in a machine or payphone.
