What's going on with Dansco

Tom147Tom147 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm aware of the story about Dansco moving from Calif. to Washington state, then the covid shut down. I went to their site, retrieved the email address and sent one off asking about updates. It came back as " undeliverable ". I'm in need of one particular album and several separate pages. NO I will not pay the extortionist eBay prices.

Does anyone know what's going on with them ?

I believe another thread here recently said the albums would be available soon... I think it was in the next few months. Looked briefly for the thread and have not found it. Cheers, RickO

I gave up on them long ago. Switched to Whitman. I like the look of the Whitman albums. Blue beats brown every time.

I prefer Dansco albums over all others. Had to get a whitman for the innovation dollars, but if Dansco comes out with one, I will be getting it.

Here’s a link to another Dansco thread, from the Precious Metals side:

Glad to hear this. I was not wanting to change to Whitmans for my collection. Nothing against the Whitman, but I have 39 different Danscos. Virtually all are full and it's getting close to time to buy the next volume for several series. . I do want them to match.
Secondary market for pages is just nuts. More for a single page than what I used to pay for an album. If anyone is interested ( yea I know, wrong page to sell on ) I do have several unused quarter pages.

Similar to me. I have one Whitman one but the rest are Littleton albums. Work quite well for me.

As did I. Problem is, back in 2019 I didn't see this coming. If I did, I would have bought albums and blank pages which have appreciated more in two years than any coin in my collection. WALLE, what type of label maker do you use ? I have a Brother but it doesn't print two lines.

Years ago I started buy blank pages to make my own just for this reason. All my sets are good until at least 2043 LOL.
Cents, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Kennedys, etc..

    This is what I do.

Blank pages....me too. I make my own notes and insert them in
the albums for those who come after me when I'm gone. Maybe they will care......probably not.

If you start a new line at the beginning of your post or after a blank line with 4 or more spaces, it's shown as "code".

If you don't, it's normal text.

I prefer the "hand-feel" of a Dansco album, and the way full pages slap together when turned.

I've recommended him several times on different posts, but Randy Miller of Chief Coin & Supplies (Oshkosh, WI) carried a wide variety of manufacturers & styles of folders, albums, etc (both new & used) at very fair prices. May be worth giving them a try.......

I prefer LOC over Dansco and Whitman, but I have some of each.
