Please welcome the 14th coin in my collection

VetterVetter Posts: 925 ✭✭✭✭✭

Here she is. A 1891 cc $10 gold. I’ve always wanted a cc gold piece and now I have one. This is coin 14 in my small collection that is growing slowly.
Here are the other 13. I know, not the best but I’m proud of them with my budget.

Members I have done business with:
Silverman68, jfoot13, GAB, ricman, Smittys, scrapman1077, RyGuy, Connecticoin, Meltdown, VikingDude, Peaceman, Patches and more.

Great collection. I won't call it a start as you are well beyond most starter collections with keys only. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Excellent! Good way to collect coins. Try to stay away from problem coins. Those are all easy sell coins. That reminds me of an older guy that I knew (He has passed away), He would go to coin shows and look at the most expensive coins in dealers showcases no matter what they were. He never looked for anything specific. Just a regular collector, but had the discipline to only purchase about 100 coins a year.
I also know a dealer that had a whole roll of 1901-s quarters (Low grade of course) when they were selling for about $1000 each. I have lost contact over the years and I don't know if he is still living, I hope he still has them.

Yes, keep it up! If you can afford to get the "Keys" out of the way (half of them anyway) you'll be on your way to having a magnificent collection. A whole lot better than mine anyway. Most of us start off with non-key coins. Than they work the're way up. Glad to see your doing the opposite. Smart thinking, dude. Nice 14th coin as well. ;)

Congratulations on your first CC gold piece! That is a nice little collection you put together. It has a little bit of everything in it including key dates, errors and doubled dies.

Thanks all for the kind words. I need to start thinking and saving for my next coin. I’m not sure what it will be except I know it will be a key date. Price range will be $500-$2000 once I decide. So many to choose from.
