Minor varieties and "errors" are not something that should be considered for "handing down". Unless the person receiving the coins is a true expert in the field and knows how to market such items they are likely to bring little or nothing.
In 1969 mintmarks were punched into the dies after they were finished. When both the date AND the mintmark are doubled on a 1969-S Lincoln, that means MDD.
The die was finished before the mintmark was applied. Both cannot be doubled because of this.

Spend it, it is just machine doubling.
Cannot tell you anything from that tiny portion of one side of a coin. If you think its a valuable DD that thought would be wrong.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Classic machine doubling.

Machine doubling and not worth saving/handing down. Good luck in your search.... Cheers, RickO
MD but keep up with the hunt. You will never find a keeper if you don't use those peepers. LOL
