One thing is for sure ... if you don't look ... your not going to find anything.
I'm going with No.
I see the remains of the FG. Probably partially grease filled die

I do not see it in those pictures.... could be some traces with the right angle and no glare... but for now - good find. Cheers, RickO
I don't see it, I see all kinds of figures close but not in the exact place. Maybe Pareidolia?
I believe it is a no FG, Joey. Then that's just my opinion.

I see some die scratches from heavy polishing which would be expected if they ground off the FG.
Post a clear image of the Motto on the obverse. There are specific markers for the No FG Die Marriage.
The name is LEE!
Found this explanation.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.As do I. You're in the best position to tell us, Joey-is there ANY trace of the initials?
There appears to be something there or is it ,like someone else said, polishing? I see some holdered Varieties (Ngc/PCGS) ,with some slight tracings. They made the cut.

Your latest photos show a ghost image, no matter how faint, of FG.
I think I need more pictures
It's faint but it's there.
Sorry.
doctored in my opinion
Kennedys are my quest...
Dang Joey.... can you get us a closer look please?

About 3 years ago I found the sister to this coin roll hunting. Went through about $10,000 in half dollars. Found a couple '74-D DDO's, 4-5 '82 no FG, a lot of 40%'s and a respectable amount of 90%'s. The '71-D DDO and many proof's. The coin I found looked just like yours, worn, chewed up and with enough wear to tease the imagination. Took a lot of straining to see any FG. I think the lower stars were sharper than should have, and coin so terribly worn that I felt not enough there.... Who knows? Could be the same coin! lol. There were a lot of half dollars that were marked with black, and red marker I remember from other roll hunters.
I was really hoping to score a '73-D DDO. That would be an awesome find, and have always wanted that variety.
I have found a couple dozen 73-D DDO but then I've hunted 6 boxes every week for the last ten years. Several rolls of 74-D DDO, eleven 77-D DDO, 72 and 72-D DDO's and many 72-D and 82-P MDI's. Literally hundreds of 71-D DDO and Proofs and more silver than you can shake a stick at. It's been fun!
FG is there but faint.
No parade pisser am I, I promise.
What do you guys think they said? Lol.

On my other coin, the 2020s Airmen error quarter. It came back a MS 67 STRIKE THRU.

Looks like it to me from a quick glance. I found an exceptional UNC example...but it had a scratch on the eagle. Erg. Graded UNC details, which wasn’t a surprise, but a bit harsh.

Yours looks prettier than mine. Too bad about the end results. Are you still happy liken me?
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.So I looked closer at the above, and at least in your later pictures I think I may see a trace of the FG. I’m guessing that PCGS said it was not the variety, but would need to see a closer look. If they designated mine details due to scratches, I assume they would do the same for yours. I was pretty disappointed in the details grade I got. I sent it to Great Collections for grading and auction. Absent that little scratch it is perhaps a $1000 plus coin. With the scratch it sold for about $120... Was worth the shot at grading and it could straight grade perhaps if tried enough times. In hindsight, I would have been better off just auctioning it raw on eBay.
Here’s the GC listing for the one I sold:
https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/738610/1972-D-Kennedy-Half-Dollar-No-FG-FS-901-PCGS-Genuine-Unc-Details
67 is pretty good plus it is an error coin.
hard to know a value on that one.
What do you think on this one

I just saw a 72 D MS66 pop1 listed for 15K, can't find where I saw it but PCGS values it at 4.5K.

Ok, so what is the value of the OP's coin slabbed with the "NO FG" designation in the grade that it is?
BTW, what did it grade?
Value, good question. As to what it graded. I already specified in my recent

thread. XF- Cleaned Detailed. Hopefully, it still is worth near $100? XF by PCGS price Guide, $250. Uncleaned w/ no Details designation.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I believe a value of $100. is too optimistic. The variety is scarce, somewhat- yet obtainable rather easily. Generally, a collector seeking out this variety for his set won't settle on a detailed coin as it will make then stand out like a sore thumb compared to his other coins within the set. Sadly, I'd place worth about $25.00.

A few years back I found one of this variety, got it graded and attributed by PCGS (XF40) sold it on eBay for $170ish. If that helps with an idea on valuation.
There is an Au 55 coin listed on GC for a starting bid of $165.00 with no bidders yet.
There is also a Genuine Unc Details starting bid at $95.00 with also no bidders at this time.

Yea, the old black plastic case too.
I Like how PCGS presented my Error coin.
Notice they placed the reverse on the front. So you can actually see where the Strike Through is.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.Sadly, I'd place worth about $25.00.
Thanks for the help but I have to strongly disagree with you. Maybe raw? Or in another holder but PCGS might push the value a tad higher than your $25 figure? I could be wrong? This variety is hard to catch in any grade. Much more difficult than the other two "No FG" Kennedys.
Thanks again.

For my sake, I hope I am? Lol. But you know what? I probably will never sell it anyway? Just wanted to say and show, that I do own one, the hard to find variety. Thanks my friend.
