Am I wrong

Why does the administration not remove posts that have absolutely nothing to do with coins?

The post I think you’re talking about. The forum is less watched on the weekend and people get away with OT threads until the mods close them on Monday. That’s what I’ve noticed, anyway.

a warning, a suspension and then a total ban
there are too many posts here that seem to be supported by forum members that have or are disguised as coin threads,
trolls work everywhere including here. Shame on those that respond to the op.

You can use it to report a post to the moderators.

    But, honestly, what's the point?

well if the Admins penalize posters of off threads, we will see less of them. So I hope

We also sometimes end up seeing fewer posters.

And color me paranoid, but if we make the forum a big enough PITA, they might shut it down or restrict it.

All the moderators have full-time real jobs at PCGS. They do not want to be in the business of disciplining a bunch of unruly children. They also don't need to spend all their time looking at flagged posts.

OT posts are easy enough to ignore. I hardly even noticed this one. Just don’t let it get to you.

    signal to noise ratio

we have to make running a free forum worth it to them.

attracting the new comers to coins, forums, etc. pays in pita reduction.

Although off topic Covid has affected numismatics. The business model is now very different; no shows, auctions are on fire, and collectors are buying mostly online so discussing Covid respectfully seems appropriate to me.

Yeah but... alot of that back and forth has political or bias that belongs on FB and Twitter.

I can start some inane threads but at least it is coin related.

There is a pretty straight line between herd immunity and the return of the large coin shows.

100% positive transactions with SurfinxHI, bigole, 1madman, collectorcoins, proofmorgan, Luke Marshall, silver pop, golden egg, point five zero,coin22lover, alohagary, blaircountycoin,joebb21

    wow

covid has now infected this non-coin thread to make it even more non-coin.

I was going to say that at least the covid-coinshow part 2 redux again thread was contained to that one thread....
(I really am surprised it hasn't spilled over)

I sure do miss the old 'Open Forum'... That was the place anything (within reason) could be discussed....and left the coin forum for coins.... Sure was a lot of fun...Cheers, RickO
