A few months back I posted my win from WAG - a nice 1793 Mexico 8 Reales with full luster and a touch of color. Well, this morning at 4am EST i won 2 more 8 Reales from the same collection. First one is a drop-dead gorgeous Guatemala Mint 8 Reales and the other one is a colorful 1810/09 Mexico over-date.

Loved dealing with Mr Moritz Pater at WAG. Super helpful and even agreed to provide videos via WhatsApp of the lots I was interested in. Excited to get these 2 in-hand and yes, I'll be going the FedEx route after reading the horror stories about containers full of packages taking 40+ days at sea.

You're more than welcome to guess the grade. I'll be sending these to PCGS with my next submission. In fact, i haven't given away an 8 Reales in a while, so i'll probably do a gtg-based giveaway with my next sub.

1810/09 Mexico:

And here's the 1793 from a few months back:

These look so nice that they can be mistaken for modern replicas. Congratulations on your newps. Hope the grades come back as you hope.

    They do look very nice!

I think either 63’s or 58’s as you noted in an earlier conversation. Luster looks great

All three coins look excellent, and they have the potential for great trueviews too

I'll go out on a limb and guess the 1798 and 1810 are MS62 and the 1793 is AU58 when you submit. All three are hard for me to grade from the given photos and videos but I'd be very excited to get that sub back :)

With how long the shipping has been from Germany, these will arrive completely black in that case. :D

    Both are absolutely beautiful.

@TwoKopeiki I'm sorry that I have to ask but could you tell me what WAG is?
An auction house I assume but can you elaborate.

    Thanks

It's exactly that. A German auction house. They primarily offer German(ic) coins, but will have some fun world offerings. They have good standards and are a respectable outfit. They tend to operate in a slightly lower price range than the big dogs like Heritage and Kuenker. It mainly operates in the $50-5000 range, where I'd say Kuenker is more like $250-25000. WAG has some great sub-$300 offerings, which is what I often go for. They'll take PayPal (for a fee) if you want to dip your toes in without figuring out how to wire money to Europe.

They consistently have interesting offerings of medals, if that's what you are into.

Regardless of what it grades, I know I will regret letting go of that Guatemalan, so I guess I just expanded my collecting focus ;)

Its an auction house in Germany that I usually didn't follow until pieces of this collection started to appear in the last few sales. I would love to know who the consignor was.

Some really nice pickups! There was also a pretty great 1811-So 8R in there as well.

I decided not to chase it, but it was a nice coin.

    @TwoKopeiki,

I don't mean to sound repetitive, but your coins are sick. I mean SICK!!! Congrats again on getting them, and I hope to see them (and you too, I suppose) in person. I know it is a pain for you to lug them to NYINC, but maybe you can bring a few choice ones that you like to WOW us with.

As a matter of interest, do you known what that 8 Reales sold for? it did look very nice.
