I found this penny that has a bunch of markings on it, making it unreadable. It is like this on both sides.

It got Mang0‘d or mangled and became unreadable.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

Spent a bit of time in the parking lot. ;)

with the absence of dirt and discoloration I'd say it was recently abused from some sort of gouging.

who knows, perhaps it was by an american hockey fan.

No doubt it was mangled by some means outside of the mint.

@MFeld Mark, that's POTD material and I'm not sure anyone caught it yet! :D

Did you find it in a parking lot?

It was dropped in the street and repeatedly run over until somebody finally rescued it. I find pennies like this regularly while out walking my dogs.

    Here you go...

A lawn mower and I used to make coins like that regularly (and unintentionally, of course). They can get quite hot and be quite painful when they hit your shin.

@Mang0 .... Welcome aboard.... You have a severely damaged Canadian cent....Usually attributed to having been lost in a parking lot and repeatedly run over. Cheers, RickO
