Post any "Clad" Eagle.

joeykoinsjoeykoins Posts: 17,564 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hi guys. My new buy. I was going to get the silver coin in this series but you know me. Lol. Besides, as you can see for yourself. The coin doesn't have to be silver to be a beautiful coin. Love the design of this particular Eagle. Almost the one that the mint chose for the new quarter. Post your Clad Eagle of any denomination. Thanks guy's :)

Here is a clad eagle (1996) that spent some time in the ground. Cheers, RickO

Don't always believe the in ground theory sometimes the rare does happen. A little cleaning the professional way and You have something someone else wishes they had found 1st not my coin but if it were tarnished and not already graded they would call this a ground coin found metal detecting too.

I won't say different just throwing it out there to the ones as Myself whom had listened to others before, then did my own investigation and found there can be such a thing as an improperly bonded strip. (Not directly to You) but Let me tell "those" that belittle new comers on such things really does effect the standards of these groups. But Yes I should have submitted rather than take others advice on such a finding that by the looks of it isn't a classroom experiment either yet still to be by professionally determined as I'm still going through Years of coins for the best of my findings to submit. Thanks, Joey! Unfortunately it's a normal die.

But you've had twentysomething years to get used to it! I've often thought they should have kept the eagle and put the commemorative designs on the obverse.

    Nice coin!

A little of the typical weakness for the date3 but remarkably clean.

    Joey-

Your doubled die reverse quarter is properly known as DDR-001 and PR 1-R-I. The "I" indicates is a Class I, or rotated hub doubled die. That's the same Class as the famous 1955 doubled die obverse cent.

Oh wow! Thanks, that's pretty cool. Knowing my coin (ddr proof quarter) is in an elite category, such as, the king of the double die. Thanks again, for that info. ;)
