A rare Trade Dollar (pt. 2)...

for those who enjoy these things. It's the Type 2 Obverse, Type 2 reverse and is a sad coin, especially because on the reverse you can see that it used to be an excellent coin.
The 76P is rare with chop marks as it is, so it's doubly cool (to me) with the rare variety.

Yeah, too bad it was scrubbed beyond its life. Tons of detail and only a few well-placed chops. Still, quite cool...

Very, very rare. I have seen very few 76's. The II/II is. Extremely rare in its own right. Very cool coin, rarity drives this one!!!!!
Another great pick-up.
The 76-P chop marked is scarce, but a II/II is super rare.

It's a shame that some fool thought it would be a good idea to clean this coin with a wire brush. I agree with the coin being rare.
looks unc or nearly so, prior to the abuse. Still, an important variety for the specialist. And cool chops. Any idea what the census is on these? 25? Does anybody keep track?
Nice coin and a scarce one... Just too bad about the harsh cleaning....Cheers, RickO
Very nice, I used to own a chopmarked example of this variety as well, but the detail was nowhere near as nice.
Here's one on CollectiveCoin

Cool coin that I would have bought too out of habit if I had seen it. Your eye is still sharp
