A Christmas song......but you have to be old like me to get it:

"Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla Walla, Wash, and Kalamazoo!
Nora's freezin' on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower, and Alleygaroo!

Don't we know archaic barrel,
Lullaby Lilla Boy, Louisville Lou.
Trolley Molly don't love Harold,
Boola Boola Pensacoola, and Hullabaloo!"

I remember reading that each season in the funnies
    Used to sing it too
That must have been, what, two three years ago.

I remember this song from the 80's, when I was a teen working at a clothing store...a colorblind person working at a clothing store...they called me the "king of clash".

That reminds me of a rhyme I once knew. It went something like there once was a man from nantucket. Don't remember the rest.

You're right. I don't get any of that. Was born in 1988 but I'm old of enough to remember the floppy disk in computer class. Wow I'm getting old. ;)

I must have led a sheltered life, as I'm 61 and couldn't make any sense of the Captain's post.

I rode the T enough times to know Boston Charlie (or at least who I know of as Charlie), and hey, I know Walla Walla for their onions and, of course, that they have an airport <3

I remember most of “Rudolph the Bald-headed German” but I’ve sadly forgotten some of the lines over the years. It was very popular in the late 70s and early 80s in my area.

    A little more modern version, although malls are getting hard to find these days;

Wreck the malls this Christmas season
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Blow your cash for no good reason
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Push your charge card to the limit
    Fa-la-la, La-la-la, La-la-la
Checkbook now has nothing in it
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Wreck the malls with my friend Charlie
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Drive to K-Mart on his holly
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
    Tamper with their muzak system
    Fa-la-la, La-la-la, La-la-la
    Trade something for Twisted Sister
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Wreck the pet store, do some damage
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
Send the beagles on a rampage
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la
    Acting in an uncouth manner
    Fa-la-la, La-la-la, La-la-la
Drop your pants and moon at Santa
    Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la

Walt Kelly's comic strip "Pogo" was a Daily and Sunday Comic Strip worth waiting for. Had a lot of thinly disguised political satire in it. He would be having a great time lampooning these Washington DC characters we have now.

I get it ... and got a good chuckle ... but the bigger question here, that seems left unanswered ...

... is anyone here really old like you?!
