I love this rendition of Ye Olde Mint.

I was the underbidder on this gorgeous Ron Landis carving recently.

Did anyone here win this?

It was in the Stack's sale, lot 3130 give or take a few lots.

The original painting was done by Edwin Lamasure, Jr. (1867–1916).

Here's a 1985 painting by Natalie House that went for almost $2K.

Amazing provenance on this! Both Ron and Len are mentioned in the Stack's lot description, but not John.

There's a postcard of Lamasure's painting from around 1915 but I can't find information on where the original painting in these days. Does anyone know?

Here's an interest postcard indicating the Ye Olde Mint building was owned by Frank H. Stewart Electric Company. It would be interesting to trace the provenance / ownership of the building to the point it was demolished. The postcard was made by Rosin & Company in Philadelphia, printed in Germany, and was available from Mary L. Martin.

Imagine if the Mint hadn't been demolished and was still in private (or public) ownership today?
