Butkus and Tyson, great choices! Heck, just give me the entire 80s Pistons, they were mean bastards!

There are so many possibilities. There are some more obvious answers I'm sure. Maybe I'll have to come up with a couple. But when I saw the question @doubledragon for some reason this guy popped into my head. Strange pick, right? Of course he famously is a student of the "martial arts". And he doesn't even drink, afaik, but then again, neither do I.

    Chief.

For some reason I found this so funny years ago that I showed it to my wife. Then we would make jokes about it. She knows very little about any specific players or athletes, but if I need to reference Hardy , all I need to say is ......cereal ... killed it... No spoon... 😂😂😂😂

Dale Hunter was a dirty hockey enforcer, he seems like a guy I could depend on to grab a bottle and smash it over somebody's head.

If you're in a bar fight, you need somebody crazy, not just tough.

I'm going with Ron Artest. Connor McGregor might not be a bad choice either because he's a trained fighter and crazy.

I prefer to take preventive measures.
That's why If I could choose any athlete ever to take to a bar it would be Andre the Giant.
Because in the history of the world there has never been anyone drunk enough to utter these words,
"Dude I don't care if you are Andre the Giants buddy prepare to get your #$% kicked!"

It would be hard for me to get angry. I don't get angry a lot. The last time I got really angry was when I saw this Joe Louis hand puppet on eBay. It looks like he's wearing a dress!

Ahh good old bar fights. Brings me back to the early 90’s. I have multiple ones under my belt, thankfully back in my day a bar fight didn’t get you on the front page of the local newspaper and or on CNN. Bar fights are fast, chaotic and vicious since it’s usually dark and you don’t have much room. I’d much rather have an offensive lineman- pick anyone and I’m happy. A 300 pound earth mover is a good option from my experience lol

It's a terrible shame what happened to him. That fight is tremendous but his work as a pro wrestler is even better. He went from being this guy who didn't quite understand his size and was awkward to being one of the two or three best wrestlers in the world with a gigantic list of great matches.
