I submitted a group of bust halves not long ago for regrade during one of the PCGS specials in the hopes of getting some upgrades. Take a look at these 5 halves and guess their grades.

To make it more interesting, I’ll give a First Day of Issue 2007 P George Washington Golden Dollar graded PCGS MS65 to the first person who correctly guesses the grades before midnight EST on Friday. Only one guess per player and no editing please. I’ll announce the winner over the weekend.

Feel free to also attribute them if you wish.

Good luck to all who play!
Dave

1810 O.101a Upgraded from 58 to 58+

1811 O.104a Large 8, Upgraded from 58 to 61 (Was hoping for a 58+ but I’ll take the 61)

1819/8 O.103a Upgraded from 53 to 53+

1822 O.103 Upgraded from 55 to 58 (Tough die marriage so very pleased with the 58)

1824 O.103 Over Various Dates, Upgraded from 58 to 58+ (Definitely one of my favorites in my collection)

10 at a time is a little too overwhelming for me, but that last one is incredible. They are all very nice.

I think you’re right, I’ll break it into two parts.
    Thanks for the feedback.

    Absolutely Bada** examples Dave! <3

I'll try for attribution and grades

    1810 is O-101 and I'll say it's a 58
    1811 is O-104, and I'm thinking this one popped for a 58+
    1819/8 is O-103a (tough), and I'll say 55+
1822 is O-103 (rare), and this one looks 55
    1824/var is O-103, and I'm thinking 58

    10 - 58
    11 - 62
    19 - 55
    22 - 62
    24 - 58+

I'm privy to some of these so I won't reply. I'll leave it to Dave to decide whether I deserve the 2007 dollar, as some kind of congeniality award. :p

I will say these are drop dead bust halves. Part 1 & 2. I can't wait to see them in hand.

    Thanks, Lance!
Although you do know some of them, you can still guess as to the rest in each part if you’d like.

I’m sure I can speak for everyone here on the boards when I say that we all value your insight and opinion on bust halves whenever possible.

All I ask is that you don’t reveal which ones you actually do know.

    Excellent guesses so far everyone!

If no one guesses all 5 correctly, I will give the the Washington golden dollar to the person who first guesses the most correct.

Thanks for playing and for the kinds words!

I am late to the show, but I would give them all 58s except the 1824 which I'd give a 55. + grades, no way to tell without in hand examination.

Congrats again to JBN for guessing one of them correctly.

Surprisingly, these were a difficult group to grade as well, since the guesses were all over the place, but some were very close.

I was very pleased with my upgrades, but most especially the 1822 and the 1824 Over Various Dates. I bought the 1824 which is completely prooflike in a NGC 58* holder, crossed it to PCGS 55, then to 58, and finally to 58+!!! Definitely one of the nicest toned bust halves I’ve ever seen.

    Thanks for playing everyone.
