The Walker is my favorite US silver coin. I recently finished my late date set (1933-s through 1947-d) with some varieties. I've been working on this for about 3 years. It started with some raw Unc Walkers from my Granddad's Whitman album that started the set. Those are the three raw coins you see that are in generic slabs. I'll likely keep them all that way.

Next step is to finish the tough '20's, a few from the teens (the '19's are Tough) and to finish the Proof set.

Maybe one day, but highly unlikely I may find a pattern. Highly unlikely though (example: https://coins.ha.com/itm/patterns/1916-50c-walking-liberty-half-dollar-judd-1992-formerly-judd-1797-pollock-2053-low-r7-pr65-ngc/a/1114-2165.s)

Thanks for looking. Comments are welcome.

    Nice looking set!

    I love it!

    Congratulations, that's quite an accomplishment.

The 1930s can be TOUGH, as well as the S mints of the 1940s.

I really like seeing the diversity of this set. Both major TPGS and all different slab generations are represented.

AU 58 through M65 can be a very well-matched set, if selected properly....I believe that you have excelled in doing so.

I like the way that you have incorporated your Grandpa's raw MS coins for that sentimental factor, as well.

This truly looks like a nice set.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

@Walkerfan yes you’re absolutely right! The ‘30’s are TOUGH with respect to the branch mints, especially harder to find them with a good full strike on both sides. But as you know, not as TOUGH as the ‘20’s... we’ll see how long that takes to do it right. Thanks for your input, much appreciated ;)

WOW!! Nice looking set. Even the ones you inherited are nice. Most times the coins that
are past down thru the family are not nearly as nice Your Grand Father had a good eye
for quality. Too bad the zoom option has been taken away, would like to see some close
    ups of this set.

Congratulations on a very nice set. WLH's are also a favorite of mine - though I have not attempted a set. I opened the picture in a new tab and it magnifies there....Good Luck on your further endeavors...Cheers, RickO

@Walkerfan I just second guessed myself, but I think you missed the furthest column to the right ;)

    ‘35-s 1st row last column
‘38 is 2nd row last column
    ‘41-s 3rd row last column

What Walkerfan said.....the mismatched holders and grades is just like my full date set, and I really like seeing yours!
    The 1920’s coins are killer.
I recall the only “easy” ones are the 20P and the 29 D and S coins. But I built most of my set pre-internet, so perhaps some of these are now more available.
I’m sure you’ll find nice ones - please keep us posted!

@Walkerguy21D yes the ‘20-p and ‘29-d and ‘29-s are the easiest and the first of the tough ‘20’s that I’ve managed to pick up. Thanks for the comments ;)

I’ve always wondered about the relative availability of the 29 duo in AU and Unc, despite the low mintages. Much more common than the 27S and 28S, with higher mintages.
My pet theory is that the mints or Fed held them out of circulation due to the crashing economy in ‘29, releasing them later when times were better, and collecting more popular. This may explain why more were saved in higher grades?

It's a good theory. The 1929-s I believe is slightly harder then the 1927-d with about 20% more '29-d in a given AU-MS grade, roughly speaking. Others have written that many were likely 'kept from circulation'... due to the market crash of 1929.

It's a great series active during a very important time.I've read Bruce Fox's book, but I recently ordered the Swiatek book and the Dean Howe book to round it out.

Thanks again for the comments. ;)

Outstanding set, and one of my favorite designs of all time! I am working on the same set, but only have 10 coins....Long way to go.
