Are you new to eBay? Over priced coins are fairly common on eBay.

Waiting for a fish to bite, problem with ebay is, when you search , you get hundreds of these at various prices, so it shouldnt take a rocket scientist to figure out when a specific listing such as this is way out of line, now places like itsy and stuff, who knows. I get people all the time that stumble on to itsy listings and see a common coin valued at huge money , and they bring a similar coin in looking to sell. Having to explain this is tougher than you think, some people think your just trying to hose em.
I have been shopping for a Proof British gold coin, that is worth up to $2,000, on the Internet. I have run into price quotes that were double and triple that amount. Those numbers might seem silly to the collector who has done some research, but perhaps not to an uninformed person who is dazzled by the gold. All it takes is one person with more money than brains, and the scammer has made their day.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
The seller may not know anything about coins so he used a price guide and picked the highest price in the far right column.

Pretty sure it is just a typo on the seller's part. No I am not him, even though, this is my first post. If you look at the rest of his commems in his store I think you will see it is a typo. Sometimes people's fingers twitch. It happens.

I considered something along those lines, but he sells a lot of coins (and fails to sell many others).
With all due respect Mark ... you said it your self "he sells a lot of coins" I would think he has knowledge of the coin business.
That was my point, which is why I mentioned that he lists and sells a lot of coins.
After I contacted the seller, he replied that his price was a typo and as Baley posted, it has been changed.

Kind of missed being close to the rim by a bit. The letters aren't perfectly centered on a real one, but they're not that far to the left.
Are you and I the only ones who are seeing these items as counterfeits?

Yes. It's an obvious counterfeit. Happy now?

More than "fairly".

Over priced is an understatement.

Yep, now $40 BIN.
No one noticed that it said 1926?
The 1925 Stone Mountains are common. But the 1926 is so rare that it is unknown.

At least he's only asking $40 for his XF-AU commemorative half.
The only problem with the listing is, which one are you getting? Says two available but only one shown
