My Dansco type set is complete!

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 9,068 ✭✭✭✭✭

It's been filled for a few years now. Every once in a while I upgrade a piece here & there.
I like this set mosty because even though the holes are filled, the project is never really completed.
I was looking through it yesterday and snapped a few shots from my phone in just natural sunlight and it seemed to capture the look pretty well so I went ahead and shot front & back page shots mainly for documentation, but also to share here.
Here they are...

Fantastic set & completing it looks great.

The Bi-Centennial trio are super boring in my opinion. I may look for more interesting examples. I don't have any other album plans at the moment. I've done BU Franklins twice now. Mostly finished with UNC/AU quarters. I've done a Walking Liberty album mostly from 90% silver buys out of dealer trays...
I still really like Morgan dollars and about a hundred other shiny things...

Slowly buying those in slabs... I still need a $3 gold piece, St. Guadens and a nice $10 Eagle. B)
Also, I can't find a dansco gold page anywhere. On ebay, they are stupid expensive.

Nice set! You have some killer Bust and Seated material in there too. I completed my 7070 some time back and it really felt good to accomplish that, plus the heft of picking up the album feels nice too. A gold page would be cool to add too, but not when that page costs more than some coins!

One day, I'll post pics of my 7070 too.

Nice set! I always enjoy seeing these!
Any reasoning for why some spots have the reverse facing forward?

Nothing more than I liked looking at the different design on the front page. For example, 2 Buffalo nickles facing obverse up look pretty much like the same coin in two spots.

    Lovely set! 👍

Good idea taking the slides out for the pictures

Next, cut some little shims out of safeflip plastic and cure that rotation issue 😉

Beautiful set. I especially love the Jefferson and Morgan's toning (along with others).
How do you determine which coin gets displayed reverse side up? For example, usually if this is
done it is the type 1 Buffalo that is reverse showing- you on the other hand show the type 2. Interesting.

Thank you all for the kind words. It's funny, like I mentioned up top, it's a project that is never really finished. There's more than a few I'd like to swap out for another example... For now, I can kick back, be patient and wait for the right coin to come along.
