Counterfeit Liberty Seated Dime possibly?
This coin just looks all wrong for me. Enlargement makes it look like a cast counterfeit plus the rims look odd as do other parts. Your opinions please. Edited to change title acidity.

Sure looks fake to me.
Misleading title…
I am not a dime expert, but would pass on that one....Cheers, RickO
I would guess environmental damage first but fake is possible

I hate counterfeit LSD and I hate it when my 420 turns out to be counterfeit.
I don't like counterfeit coins either and this looks like one to me.
Possible modern-day manufactured artifact? MDMA
I see that one going into the for future reference box
Counterfeit LSD is a rip-off!
Seriously though, I do NOT think that one is counterfeit. I think it sat in the dip jar too long (which can give some wonky surface qualities), and has been cleaned by other means, and has lived a hard life. But too many other things appear genuine, so I'm not convinced it is fake.

LSD = Liberty Seated Dime?
What a trip. Groovy man. Oops wrong forum.😎
I don't see anything that jumps out that this is fake. It looks like it was struck with rusted dies. This is such a common date with over 11M struck that you can definitely find a better example. No reason to reach on one.
They had sum of that at Woodstock
I went there 2nd after thinking about rare car parts 1st

The dime may have dropped acid ... I mean may have been dropped in acid.

Sorry, yes I meant Liberty Seated Dime. Some are showing their age and habits.

'acid' etched.
Looks like environmental damage, dipped,cleaned
I asked this because LSD was always Liberty Seated Dollar to me. This is the first I've noticed it's use for a dime.
Perhaps Dollars should be LS$?
I'm voting real. Plus, who would counterfeit an 1887 dime?

I'm also voting real. Looks like a ground find which introduced some porosity. Then field cleaned by hand leading to the hairlines. Then rinsed with soap and water to remove dirt once the finder brought their treasure home. Fun find!
Thanks for your replies.
