MS65BN based on the photos. If the surfaces are a little more/less clean or if the lustre is a bit stronger or weaker, I could see 64-66, but I'd be surprised if it were outside of that range.
I am gonna swim against the tide and say 64BN, I see a lot of marks on the reverse that could hold it back.

Rims look sharp, struck quite well, color similar to color I have seen on other matte proofs and just my guess
Your observations are correct and attest to how nice this coin is. I too have seen matte proofs similar in color, but unfortunately it's not a proof. Thank you for playing along. I will reveal the grade later this afternoon.

Thanks to all that posted. My feeling is that it's mighty nice for a 64.
It is but between the marks on the shoulder and the fact that BN copper often tends to mute the luster its hard to get grades MS65 and above. I like it and who knows with gradeflation it could grade as a 65 someday.

Thank you coinbuf. Just so there's no misunderstanding, I'm not saying that this is better than a 64, I'm saying that to me it has great eye appeal for a 64 and I'm happy to have it in my collection. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

MS65+BN and I think that a very pretty coin.
MS 65 BN.
66+ BN
I like your enthusiasm! But I hate to burst your bubble - PCGS pop report shows no 66+ BN (and only 1 65+ BN @keets )

I try not to look at pop reports when guessing.
It's a good thing you have me around then
I tend not to guess "+" on anything since there seem to be very few for all types and grades

When I saw the picture I immediately thought 66... and the BN is automatic. Cheers, RickO

I'm in the 65BN camp. Nice coin.
63/64. Something on shoulder hidden in the dark. Can’t see it well enough on the pic to accurately grade it

I agree with 63/64 but I see the coat, lapel and tie as ok. The beard and hair around the ear look like detail has been lost.

66 was my first thought. so I'll stick with that. I could see it as a 65 as well I suppose.
BN, of course
Nice looking example!

I'm in total agreement with you, I have a similar coin in an ANACS holder at the same grade, BN copper is very beautiful.
