Should I be worried? Registered Mail situation.
I mailed a package from Ohio on 8/17. It got scanned in Chicago on 8/19 and nothing has happened since.

No, it will take a long time for register mail
I just mailed a package from New York to New Jersey on Monday. Arrived Saturday, a 5-day journey.
There are not a lot of status updates with registered mail BTW. Secure and silent.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
I have had a registered package take 6 weeks and others on this forum, much longer. It's weird, not to mention stressful. Best of luck.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
Registered mail is always slow. I expect at least a 10 day travel at a minimum. And with the current USPS problems it might take longer. I’m shipping a package tomorrow and I’m prepared for it to take forever as well.
Registered Mail is the worst for being able to track a package. I personally prefer Priority - it comes with tracking and doesn't draw attention to itself. I have had Registered packages come up missing - it isn't as secure as it was when the Hope Diamond was sent to the Smithsonian Museum using it.
I bought a monster box for BST last year. Seller sent it 07/11/2019 Registered mail. Tracking said that the delivery date was 07/16/2019. It took 12 days to go from MO to NJ. Seller never told me that the registered mail delivery date is not reliable. I even took a day off because it was an expensive piece of mail and I didn't want it to be dropped off w/o signing.

I once had a Registered Mail package take 3 days to go from Long Island to Manhattan, then two days back out to Jamaica in Queens where it sat for 6 days. Then, it finally got shipped down to Charlotte, and then a few days later to me in South Carolina where it arrived safe and sound. Just part of the service.

Part of the delay is that only a few people at the USPS have access to the cage where the registered mail sits. If that person is out or busy it sits until they are able to get to it.
Not yet.

No. Give it time.
Lance.
No. Everything in this country is screwed-up lately. No biggie.
It's very typical. With the current USPS environment, I would expect longer than normal times.
Two weeks ago I sent a Registered Package.
The item moved around NYC for 5-6 days. Then, magically 3 days later the package was delivered to the recipient in in Calif.
It is the slowest / safest way to ship a parcel.
In my experience, Registered mail has taken as long as 2 1/2 weeks to go from NYC to Arkansas and as little as 4 days to Denver.
Totally par for the course with Registered Mail, aka the Pony Express. My cross country shipments typically take 8 - 10 days and appear to get hung up at several stops on the way. The documentation procedure for RM is slow but generally trustworthy.
A recent registered package stayed in the Northeast for eight days before making it to TN.
Give it time. My new go to is fed ex with insurance from shipandinsure.com. Get 26 to 40% off the cost of FedEx so insurance is more than covered with the savings.

Thanks Brian, I will be looking into that option.

Registered was very slow before the virus. It can be even worse now. I would not worry until 3 weeks have passed. Seriously.
Register with the ANA on their website and 6 months is $45 fee. Still I sent a medium box to PCGS and it was a $30 discount. $50,000 insurance for $90.

Give it a while longer.
Registered tracking should not show it in one location for more than five days.
I had a registered sitting in transit in Atlanta for 10 days. Initiated a simple online inquiry on Friday evening and tracking showed it moving again on Saturday. Sometimes it don't hurt to give them a nudge. I think they get put in a safe sometimes and forgotten about.
The online nudge is free, simple and often effective.

Too soon to worry. Can take one to two weeks.

My personal record is 17 days to have a package go from New York to Oklahoma. That was about 15 years ago which, obviously, had nothing to do with the current USPS situation.

Safe, secure and slow.... The times I have used registered mail, have been successful, but slow. Cheers, RickO
Sitting in a cage waiting for a signature. File a lost mail request and that should wake it up again assuming 5 days pass between updates.
Update: No new tracking info today. Filed an inquiry this morning. Will keep the group posted!
Update: Made it to LA yesterday and was scanned in a LA suburb during the night. It’s not the final destination suburb, but it’s getting close! Yay!
Don't jinx yourself!
My package was delivered today after a flurry of updates yesterday and this morning, yay!
So, as The Bard once wrote, this thread turned out to be "Much Ado About Nothing."
