What do you mean by "for" or "against?" If you're asking whether I like them, only if they have some unusual trait (monster black and white DMPL, monster toned, etc.). Blast white or near white common date coins bore me to tears.
What's there not to like? They're big, silver, old and mostly affordable.

Hey!!! Morgan Dollars are RARE!!! They are almost as rare as Jefferson nickels!!!

As much as I like George T. Morgan the man, Morgan Dollars are one of the most overrated series of US coins. The only reason why they're popular is because:
1. There were millions of them that were uncirculated in bank vaults until the end of silver coinage in the 1960s (no one outside of Western states wanted them before the 1960s)
2.People like big shiny or colorful hunks of silver.
3. Coin dealer market makers wanted to be able to make money.
There are also so many VAM varieties that would drive some people crazy. Other series from the same era such as Seated Liberty or Barber coins are much more of a challenge to find nice and are much more scarce uncirculated.
What's to be against? My collecting intrests in them is limited to the political history that surrounded them, which is interesting, and a set of Morgan Dollars from each mint, a set of the 1878 minor design changes and a Proof coin for my type set.
I can see where some collectors would get tired of seeing little more than Morgan Dollars at the local shows, but for many collectors, they are prime interest items.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I only have three and will be selling two. So I am not really a fan and voted no. I understand how others love the design and all the VAMs.
Here is the one I am keeping for type.

Does "for" mean you actively collect them and "against" means that you do not? I've not really seen that terminology used in numismatics.
?
For!

Why would anybody in this site be against any coins. I like all coins, albeit some more than others. All have stories to tell.
Me, I'm only against fakes! Peace Roy

I like Morgans... especially CC Morgans....So I would be 'for' them.... I am just an agreeable guy.... Let's have a glass of wine...
Cheers, RickO
I might accept a DMPL example into my collection, but otherwise, no thanks.

I currently own one Morgan, and sometimes think about selling that. OTOH, I don't hate the design. Abstain!
I like them for bullion. I’ll take a Morgan over an ASE any day.
I’m just against the AT nonsense

A question surrounding the popularity a coin series... Such as the Morgan Dollar... Deserves a format that is different than a ballot proposition.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

I like Morgan's in for...err I mean four. 65s and 66s are nice too. 67s are kind of out of my budget. Even 63s can be nice coins ;-)
Definitely for. This is what I have in my collection right now. Also working on a Dansco set in AU/UNC, starting with the common dates

I am FOR bullion in any and all forms. At spot.

I'm a fan, but not a huge fan. Everyone should have at least one.

I like them because they are a good entry point for new collectors to the hobby. Otherwise, I only have several, just "because."
