Surfaces don’t look right to me. Especially on the obverse.
And I don’t think it’s just because of the photo.

I like it. People on here won’t like the obverse black spot by E, and I won’t guess a grade, it from the pic I’m looking at on my phone, it looks like a nice coin.
The longer I’m on here the less I’m surprised. I hope it graded nicely for you.

Looks like it might be a Vam 3
I don't like the obverse and my dumb guess would be cleaned or altered surfaces. MS-63 Details
A nice coin for the date, I like it. :)

My guess would be Unc. details, obverse wiped (or cleaned). The upper left obverse field (from opposite Liberty’s nose and forehead to beneath E P) in particular, leads me to that guess.

It is a nice strike. To me it looked like it got slid across a table so I was thinking AU. I looked again after reading @MFeld comment , yeah, iot came back details, didn't it?
    I still like the coin.

    I'm think unc details. Cleaned.

The obverse seems to have some cleaning in the upper left obverse field about 10 to 11 o'clock

It does look like something was removed on the obverse in front of the forehead/eyes....Probably details...otherwise MS63.....Cheers, RickO

The coin is too hazy for my liking, and it does appear to have been wiped. Most likely UNC Details, otherwise MS63 tops.

The haze in the fields, particularly on the obverse, says something isn't quite right. While that appearance could show up in the picture of a coin with light wear where it would be the result of lustre breaks, the wear pattern of Morgan fields wouldn't have that hazy appearance so close to the devices, while at the same time, the haze doesn't exist right up against devices such as the stars. Thus, I'm assuming the haze is either hairlines from a cleaning (and a lighting angle that makes them look hazy), or the cleaned surfaces having turned in such a way that they simply are hazy now. Either way, the surfaces aren't natural.

I'll go with Unc. details. I agree the field in front of Ms. Liberty looks smoothed.

I'm thinking 63, the haze should have been removed with acetone or MS70 IMO.

I'm in the 63/details camp with MFeld and RickO, it just doesn't look right.

The coin did come back Uncirculated Cleaned. Good job everyone! And thank you so much. I had high hopes for this coin and I’m still bummed someone would actually clean this coin.

Where did you acquire this coin & do you remember how much you paid?

Honestly, I purchased it at a place that strictly buys and sells precious medals at spot. So in all honesty, I scored and picked this coin up for maybe $25 at the time? I couldn’t have been happier finding this in there scrap bowl. I just had really high hopes of it coming back with a numerical grade assigned to it. I have picked up a bunch of other Morgan’s from the same place that I’m seriously contemplating on submitting as well.
