These coins are currently in encapsulation phase with PCGS so I will post the grade/photos when they are finished.

    Original good looking example of the 1835 Browning-2 variety, I’m going to say VF30.

    For attribution purposes, it’s good to know that the 1835 B-2 (R2) is the only 1835 variety where the olive leaf on the reverse ends right of the C in 25C.

    25C is also very high, with the 2 much higher than the 5. The reverse die was also used for the 1834 B-2 and B-5 varieties.

    Someone else mentioned it was Browning 2 and I was looking and could not tell the difference. Thanks for letting me know. It's actually in for variety attribution for B-2. Sadly I paid 330 for it.....

    Nice looking B-2 and mid-VF with what look like pleasing, unmolested surfaces

    Nowhere near XF. Probably VF in the average range as others more knowledgeable have suggested. I have bought some of these raw, and even if you get one to straight grade XF, you are not talking about a $400 coin unless it is a 45 and cacs. As a VF common dates are worth a lot less. Better to buy certified.

    I suppose it's better to be half right than not at all. Part of why I wrote what I did is because of the variation in the strikes and die marriages which can be deceptive to the real wear on the coin. I taking a good look at the image and the level of wear combined with the general preservation of the surfaces, F15 seems harsh... And maybe VF30 was optimistic.

    Honestly I was expecting it to be a VF at LEAST. But I guess PCGS has been cracking down on them. The TrueView Images are at this link if you want to see it.

    The trueview shows quite a bit "going on" than the original images did. Those marks were net graded down to 15, agree coin has VF details, but with clear magnification, you're probably kind of lucky it's not in a Genuine holder.

    Looking at the original photos on my iPhone made the coin look better! Seeing it now with a blown up True View I am embarrassed by my original answer.
