Bust Half NEWP

I was on the fence buying this one. (Not yet received).
Partly because it's a grade or two above what I feel comfortable with, money wise. And partly because the surfaces appear a bit streaky or spotted, and maybe a little too dark(?). The details and full denticles finally won me over. I like seeing as much of the intended design as is possible!!
What's the opinion out there? Am I going to like it? Care to guess the grade?

Nice date...40
That may well be an excellent original example or one that's surfaces have been stripped of life.
Photography can be tricky.
I'd go 45

40, 45 would not surprise me.
I agree, looks XF. Doesn't look original the way I'm interpreting those photos, but hard to say with any certainty. Please let us know your impressions after the coin arrives.
I'll go if 45 as well
Looks like there’s some decent luster. I’d guess 45.
BHNC #248 … 130 and counting.
40
Looks like you should be satisfied. I’m in the 35-40 camp.
Here is my newest CBH purchase.
Sorry about the orientation, I’m not smart enough to turn them.

45??
Many successful BST transactions with dozens of board members, references on request.
Very nice gun metal toning, and no distracting marks. A very pleasing and collectible XF.

Nice 1820 O-108. Look for the doubled die reverse. You'll see it best on the lower sets of olive leaves and berries. I'm going to disagree with the other posters and say that it's in an AU 50 to 53 holder.
I think that you'll be pleased.
If I was guessing, it's generally original with honest wear and soft underlying luster, and it also appears that it very well could be the DDR (as @OKbustchaser suggested above). I would further consider it is probably in a 45 holder, although a 50 wouldn't totally surprise me.
Nice looking coin!!
And for your sake I hope I'm right on all accounts (well, unless I undershot the grade you paid for)

Since I'll be busy tomorrow, I'll quietly drop the grade in here now:
Must admit that PART of the reason I felt good buying it is that I graded it 45 myself. Though the most frequently guessed grade appears to be 40, so that may shoot down my theory.
It certainly has the details and die state that I appreciate, so it's just a matter of how the surfaces and color grab me.
I'll be sure to do a full Overton check on it, and try to remember to report back when I get it in hand....
Thanks for looking.....
This die marriage is very fun. It is a Class IV doubled die (offset hub doubling from centers misaligned). Not shelf doubling...true hub doubling.
The reverse WD was slightly offset during its second hub impression, leaving visible doubling on the left wing, talons, claws, leaves, and berries.
I hope you're happy with it.
Lance.
Based on the pictures in the OP, I was going to guess XF, but 45.... Nice coin though and you should be happy with it....Cheers, RickO
