Thoughts on this NEWP 1833 H10c for Toned Type Set?

Hi All,
As documented in these previous threads, I've had mixed luck getting back into collecting and pursuing toned type coins:
Since those purchases I've taken more time to read and learn. And yesterday, when this half dime came across my radar, I pulled the trigger:
I'm curious to see whether I'm getting the hang of it. Do y'all consider the surfaces on this coin to be original or otherwise attractive?

I think it’s pretty sweet.
Since you asked...it has the colors and pattern that many folks simply adore, but it is not at all original skinned and has achieved its appearance after being dipped and then apparently naturally retoning. This is commonly known as secondary toning and PCGS and CAC have nothing against this, nor does NGC, and the greater population of collectors love these coins.

Thanks for the responses, all. So lots of votes for the "otherwise attractive" label. I guess the cleaning on this one that preceded the toning was not as harsh or as recent as that of the other coins I've picked up. Out of my NEWPs, I like the look of this one the best and I will be keeping an eye out for similarly toned coins.

Glad you enjoy the look. Many original coins, although difficult to find, look better. A lot of collectors prefer that look.
Very interesting. I've talked with JA about this (he's a nice guy, BTW) and he's rejected coins I've submitted due to this secondary toning so he doesn't entirely "have nothing against it". I suppose it might be a matter of magnitude but in my experience with CAC with early circulated coins they have a tendency to reject coins more for this than they do, say, over grading.

As long as you like it , that’s all that matters. Secondary toning can be attractive, as it is here, especially on smaller denominations.

I hope my comment does not hijack your post, but it sounds like you bought this coin with the CAC already on a PCGS slab. That duo gives you a great level of “protection” against having purchased an artificially toned coin. But as @Pnies20 said, even with a CAC sticker, make sure YOU like a coin before making the purchase.

I think the comments from @TomB are spot-on. I happen to really like the look.
Some truly original toning is ugly and some secondary toning is really spectacular. Truly original coins would look exactly like they did the second they were struck...... but if course that isn’t how the term is understood. I usually look for something with a rich, layered patina that seems era-appropriate and makes you say “oh, nice”. This coin has an interesting look for a gently circulated coin.
I have been looking for the “perfect” example of this type and have yet to find it. Many of these tiny coins are poorly struck. One problem you often see a “horn” that often forms in the field in front of Ms. Liberty’s face.
This one was in my collection for a while. It was sharply struck, but the toning was secondary and not original.
This one is in a scratched up holder, but it's my current example. NGC graded it MS-64. The toning is probably not original, but the coin is stable and shows all of the detail of the design.
As mentioned this looks to have been dipped many years ago and then developed the secondary tone from an album or something like that. I'm not really a fan but it is usually very market acceptable and quite liked by many collectors, but as long as you love it that is what really counts.
