Won this 1877 Indian Head Cent last night (David Lawrence Auction)

I’ve been searching for a nice 1877 IHC in Ms-65 RB for a few years. David Lawrence auctions had one that caught my eye. It’s graded PCGS Ms-65 RB with an Eagle Eye & CAC sticker. I really liked the color. The auction format was new to me since it was internet only. I usually phone in my bids and get a play by play from an on-site rep. During the auction the bidding time gets extended if there are late bids. It’s better for the seller but can be a little nerve wracking.
I’m quite pleased with the coin. As a bonus my new Marriott credit card earned me a free nights stay because of the purchase.

    Consignors, on the other hand, love it when the auction gets extended once, twice, or more! I recently lost out on an extended auction (non-numismatic). Happy seller.

    It’s definitely a premium RB but the red has mellowed too much, IMO, for 95% RD.

    The color is nowhere close to “RD”. But the coin looks unusually clean and attractive, even considering the grade.
