Take a moment and write congress for H.R. 6192 for the 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollars

There haven't been many coins I've wanted to see made in the last 40 years. None, probably.
But I would really, really love to see an official 2021 Peace Dollar. Imagine a mint-struck ultra high relief 2021 peace dollar!
It literally takes a few seconds, doesn't cost anything, and it could mean we get a fantastic book end set.
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

I see the interest in that, but personally I don't like the re-treads of classic designs. It is sort of like the Mint admitting defeat since they have no good artistic ideas on the horizon.
Ill take a pass on that.
there really are too many Commems coming out and it is especially disheartening to see the message they tend to shout: Our Nation is so devoid of artistic innovation that we're going to use new renditions of old designs. I would rather have nothing than that.
I still think they should issue some medals or bullion using designs previously only on patterns. It would be neat to have some of them where the cost isn’t so expensive.
Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. This isn't a circulating coin with a reused design. I'm not asking for a solid gold edition of a series originally struck in silver (though I'd buy it).
And it's not a silly modern mint release like "The First DQ Twist Cone" commemorative $.50.
Numismatics have a very long history of bookending a series--the '21 Morgan is a good example. We've had multiple threads about later-date releases to a series.
We didn't get a '64 Peace. A centennial issue of the Peace dollar would be a wonderful way to bring the series to a conclusion and to spark interest.

Of all the things I could write to congress about, this would be the last thing on my mind, but I do want to see these made. I really like the idea of these remakes. I already have the 2016 gold centennial set. I love the coins minted during the peace series. They have a unique and artistic design we have not seen in circulation since.

By the time they finished making it politically correct, it would look like the rest of the mint's fluff.
Good grief, another classic coin resurrection by the US Mint. Why not mint a 1 oz silver circulating Morgan or Peace $100 coin? That might result in a few new young coin collectors to replace all the "coin dinosaurs" that are slowly becoming extinct.
I don't mind if this coin is minted but I was really hoping for a dollar that commemorates the centennial of the Tomb of the Unknown. I could not build the necessary enthusiasm in Congress to move it forward. It was my idea for the World War I dollar and I even helped write the legislation. 1 for 2 is not too bad. You would not believe the amount of push-back for the World War I dollar.
I'm still disturbed over the Mint not making the 1/10th Oz Gold Mercury Dime not have Full Bands.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
no dog in this fight but seriously. not to rub it in but isn't gold more pliable than silver?
Weiss, I will do as you ask. I would like to see that coin also. Come on boys and girls. Let's all pitch in and make it happen!. Do your part.
Just like in gov't, unless there's gridlock, someones getting screwed!
Just something else to buy.
I have absolutely no interest in modern US Mint products.
It's to bad that with all the talent there isn't better stuff out there then the carp they got now
Anything for peace I'd vote for that !
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
I would like to see the Peace dollar re-issued for 2021...in silver. However, I would really like to see coin design revisited and incorporate real art.... eliminate design by committee and stop worrying about PC issues...Cheers, RickO
There are two weird things about this bill

I'd be in for that!
Make them one ounce gold like the 2016 Mercury Dime (1/10 oz) or the 2016 Standing Liberty quarter (1/4 oz) and 2016 WLH (half ounce).

More silver dollars at the next coin show. Yuck! 🙂
I bet they have other pressing issues to worry about
There is a basketball HOF coin out right now which has not been received with much enthusiasm by collectors here. A new Peace dollar maybe interesting. I would like to see Olympic coins minted by the US Mint. The Olympics were cancelled in Japan this year, so they would likely take place in 2021.

I'd be buying the max amount per PO Box for every single one I have scattered across OR/WA for work.
Don't even tempt me with a reissued peace. Or gold Morgan.. man, I love my gold 2016-W Walker, I bet a Morgan would be badass.
For better or worse, I think it's more that there's a lot of collectors that want old designs.
Me, I'd rather buy something from the Moonlight Mint. Peace Roy

I don't think this is a terrible idea as long as they do a good and faithful job reproducing the Morgan and Peace Dollar. The US Mint will never please everybody. Many American coin collectors prefer classic pre 1964 coin designs and view post 1964 coins as junk. When the US Mint brings back an old coin design, you hear people say the US Mint should come up with a new design, when the US Mint creates a new design, people complain that the new design is garbage.
Should the US Mint ever create new designs on our coins, perhaps they should hire Cassie McFarland to create new designs for all circulating coins and bullion coins. Her Baseball HOF coin was popular and she's also cute, I remember plenty of collectors were more curious about McFarland than most other modern coin designers like Mercanti, Menna or Jones.
I moved my personal junk bar to 2004 when the Westward Journey Nickels arrived on the scene. I thought the Statehood Quarters were a good idea in 1999, but it should've went back to the 1932 - 1998 design after 50 states were complete. No offense to anyone, it's just my personal opinion.
If issued I'd be in for one each **Anniversary **Morgan and Peace Dollar in .999 Ag dated 1921 - 2021. I see them as a fitting celebration of these iconic coins.
Now if the puzzle palace misses this chance I will be pleased to obtain Dan Carr's versions which I believe he has said he would be making.
Perhaps the US Mint will make "1921 - 2021" and Dan will make "2021"?
