IN-N-OUT !!!
Haven't done fast food of any type in years. Your post did remind me of the days long ago pulling down that $1.60 per hour at McDs. Were allowed 85 cents allowance for your lunch. When I did the early parking lot and dumpster area clean up shifts on Sat & Sun, for lunch I'd go to the deep freeze in the basement, get a bag of fries, immediately into the deep fry (best times is when the fryer had a new shortening in it), and enjoyed the best fries I've ever had. Still have the memories over 50 years later.
Here is something related to the thread to address my off topic ramblings. I've had this set for over 50 years. Undisturbed.
My local McDonalds, by sheer luck, was torn down to the ground and completely rebuilt during the Corona shutdown. Whoever owns it and scheduled that came out looking like a genius. They opened up last week and the drive thru line goes around the block....... I don’t get it. I’m pretty sure the food isn’t any better.
LOL! I worked at a McD's that had a chincey ass manager. I was loved on the Breakfast shift because I made the best scrambled eggs you ever put in your mouth! We got a meal and a drink. 2 eggs just didn't cut it for me. I would scramble myself 1/2 a dozen. 1 time just after I sat down to eat he came in the breakroom and says...that doesn't look like 2 eggs. I looked at him with a sure face and said..."I just know how to whip em up good if I have the time". He walked out with out saying a word. If they counted their Canadian Bacon and compared it to their Egg MacMuffin sales they would realize they were selling 1/2 as many as they should! Everytime I had to go in the cooler a few slices would leave in my stomach!
That ass wouldn't even let me make myself a Double Quarter Pounder with cheese either...even if I paid for 2!

Sorry, McDonald's hasn't changed. your body has, with age. Been there myself.
Maybe so. It sure seems more dried out and freezer burned.
The mean USED to be juicier. I mean not real juicy but ....sorta...
???????????
I worked there for a couple years while attending college late 1970's. We were unloading a truck, boxes for the freezer, we'd throw them to each other. Every once in awhile, a box would hit the floor, break open.....frozen hamburger patties everywhere. We'd get them back in the box, look at each other and for the manager. If we didn't see one, in the freezer it would go.
Another thing we'd do, order quadruple layered egg, sausage, cheese or burger sandwiches. before we go on break......YUM, YUM!

I am not a fan of the fast food places.... Never really cared for them - although, as a kid, I recall the McDonald fries being the very best....something changed over the years. I think after they stopped using lard to fry them... I like a good burger though... done by me....and fries, also done at home... Cheers, RickO
Nice job keeping a lookout for cool coins. Now just imagine how slow you'd be if you worked as a teller at a bank. "Hold on sir, I'm just looking at your change a little closer!!!"
I think I have actually been to that McDonald's and I didn't get silver. Unfair! It's always fun to receive something other than the usual back in change. I remember getting SBA dollars back that were mistaken for quarters in the 80s and early 90s. I'm sure that happened to a lot of people as well.
My best McDonalds memory; Many years ago I was driving East bound into Albuquerque, N.M. While on the bridge over the Rio Grande, I noticed what appeared to be hundreds upon hundreds of small round objects bouncing and rolling across all lanes of Interstate -40. Some of the objects were yellow and some where white. It's was quite a sight. The closer I got, the more little rolling objects there seemed to be. They were EVERYWHERE! Traffic slowed down enough to make a precise identification of the mysterious objects. They were wrapped McDonalds cheeseburgers and hamburgers. Then off on the shoulder I saw a forlorn man standing next to a pick-up truck with the tailgate down and yellow and white objects scattered all over the bed of the truck. The Somebody had a BIG party planned. Too bad he didn't close the tailgate on the way home.

The times I go through the drive thru at McDo's I tell them to put the change in the Ronald McDonald house donation bin. One less item with potential covidiot exposure.

At a Checkers burger place, they handed my order/food out the window in/with a plastic tub. I asked the gal, is that to keep you from getting infected by me? She replied, I don't know, I'm just following the rules. I shot back, well, I think there's a greater chance this place will affect me than I you. There's more of you people handling my food than me. Next day, I hit the same Checkers and this time, they're not using a tub to hand out the food. I ask the gal, a different gal, what happened to the tub? She replied, they did away with it, management thought the idea was ridiculous so we're all good now as she handed me my food and than the catsup, got to have catsup!
