1901-S $5 Liberty PCGS MS63 OGH

I enjoy this and I'm happy I got it. It's very pleasing and I love the color and surfaces. It's attractive and a little flashy but not obnoxious. I paid okay for it, and got some money kicked back via ebay bucks, shipped free a few hours later and got here fast.
I just... like it, without falling madly in love with it. Though, it's an incredibly nice 63, and very attractive for its grade, and there's lots of nice things that stand out.
do 1898-1906ish $2.5 and $5 tend to be a bit more orange? Tempted to think I'm seeing confirmation bias and not a trend, but couldn't hurt to ask.
Thanks everyone I hope you're all safe and well. Hope you enjoy the coin -- thank you for letting me share.

it's a bit easier to buy when e bucks are involved, as long as your state tax rate isn't 10 percent or more
Very nice gold coin and I believe well graded....The picture shows muted luster and the chatter on the image and fields is apparent. Overall, a nice coin. Cheers, RickO
Funny, I still don't see any benefit from the states new-found billions. I wonder where this money is getting funneled.
Although a 10% tax still beats the BP in most houses.....
Lovely coin !

Nice coin.
Nice coin!
Re: your question on orange-gold coloring in later years. Here's an interesting 2001 (wow, that long ago?) article from Doug Winter on gold coin coloration: Coloration and United States Gold Coins.
That coin has a great look, a choice 63.
Very sweet coin!!!!!! Natural golden colours!
This helps me a lot. Thank you.
Thank you.
This helps me a lot with grading thank you!
Thank you again for your expertise.
If they'd give us 10% ever again, you mean? I'm very glad the end of the quarter is here and hoping for the best.
I've come across a couple 1901-S in the past few weeks since I've made this thread. I'm much happier with it these days ;-) Glad to see you guys like it too. Thank you all for your opinions. It really helps a lot.
