A general question: If the ANA show is still on in August, would you attend?

Pittsburgh is a hike for me and I’d hate to go if it will be a dud with no one attending. Anyone definitely going?

Complete disrespect for which clientele? The clients who don't want to go, wont be there. And those who attend will be doing so because they want to. So who's being disrespected?

Well, if the percentage of people attending ANA mirrors the percentage in the poll on this thread, you ought to get a lot of bargains, cause the show attendance might be a bit sparse.

Agreed. But that doesn't address my question regarding the confusing post to which I replied.

I'll pass. I'd like to see our local shows come back, and still no sign of that.

Hoping winter FUN '21 is on!

I'm scheduled to give a talk at the EAC convention, which is most-likely going to be coupled with the ANA World's Fair of Money (final details being hammered out now). If the shows goes on, I'll likely be there but am secretly hoping they don't for safety reasons of myself and everyone else. They're still two months away, however, so who knows what the situation and my mindset will be by then?

I’ll look at the National situation second week of July and make a decision.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

IMO, Disrespect to all who would attend because of a very contagious COVID-19 that affects the older generation the most.

Disrespect to the dealers who pay for a low attendance show according to all the no's above.

Disrespect to the show attendees who go to a show with many, many dealers not attending.

As a PA resident I'm always excited when the ANA has either of their annual shows within driving distance. That being said I haven't made a final decision yet, but am leaning towards attending. About half of PA (including Allegheny county, where Pittsburgh is located) has gone "green" or will be as of June 5. If cases take a strong upturn over the next 3-4 weeks, I'll probably not attend. If cases do increase either the govenor of PA will either step in and ban large gatherings or the convention center will cancel on their own. I'll still wear a mask if I attend and try to social distance. So call me a "maybe".
