The worst part of a PCGS submission.

Being stuck in "Encapsulation" as the minutes and hours drag on!!! it's the most tedious part of the process for me, my submission showing as graded and imaged as I wait..........................the gnashing of teeth is deafening.

I was one of those who had submissions stuck during the close down - it was the worst. But after they reopened even my economy submissions looked like they were one day turn arounds by comparison. Hang in there .

I feel your pain but I would say a body bag is worse.

Lol. This is a topic I brought up a couple of weeks ago. The only difference in your thread and my thread is mine was "FUN" waitng for. Lol. I called it, "Anticipation". but I know where you're coming from, buddy. Patience can be a test or trial? Look on the bright side, you have something to look forward to, right? Lol. Good Luck in your hopeful grades.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. The worst part for me was when the return package was delivered to the wrong address on a Friday and I didn’t get it until Tuesday.
and then the grades post and they are puzzling to say the least.

My submission stay in qa for a week now. I check every day lol
Shot down for a + this week at MS65
& it actually looks better in hand.

That's really nice for a 65.
Really nice!!
I like when it moves backwards in the order. I've seen it enough that I don't even look at the progress anymore.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Thanks, I pulled the 66+ that was in my set and sold it.
This one blew it away.
My Saint Set
My submission has been in "Grading/Being Imaged" for 10 business days now. Probably normal timing but this my first submission so I am extra anxious.
That is crazy nice for a 65, I have a 64+ That looks great but compared to your gold it looks 2 grades lower!
Successful transactions with: Lakesammman, jimineez1, Flackthat, PerryHall, bidask, bccox, TwistedArrow1962, free_spirit, alexerca, scooter25, FHC, tnspro, mcarney1173, moursund, and SurfinxHI (6 times)
I too am stuck in encapsulation. I sometimes check at unlikely hours hoping beyond hope they put in some OT. Never. I suspect they’re chunky.
Edit: I take back the chunky comment. Moved to QC!
If there was an option to pay a fee to expedite an order after it was already in the process would you have paid up?
My submission stay in qa for a week now. I check every day.
I can usually hold it together till it starts getting close, then it's every hour if I'm online!!! the worst aspect of the whole ordeal is that it's Friday. if it doesn't post tonight it means I'll have it stuck in my head that the medal is graded but I'm not allowed to know at what level, it's maddening!!
to that end, I think more of my orders post on Tuesday than any other day so I may have four more days to sweat it out.
I'm remiss in my duties as a submitter.

You guys need a hobby to distract you from your hobby.
The worst part for ME is being separated from my coins!
if they could post the result early while is being imaged that would be great, then people don't have to wait couple more days to know the grade.
I'm always so anxious, I prefer to pay more, so it gets over quicker, as I check multiple times everyday.

I don't know if I'm more anxious for the trueview or the grade.
Bst transactions with: dimeman, oih82w8, mercurydimeguy, dunerlaw, Lakesammman, 2ltdjorn, MattTheRiley, dpvilla, drddm, CommemKing, Relaxn, Yorkshireman, Cucamongacoin, jtlee321, greencopper, coin22lover, coinfolio, lindedad, spummybum, Leeroybrown, flackthat, BryceM, Surfinxhi, VanHalen, astrorat, robkool, Wingsrule, PennyGuy, al410, Ilikecolor, Southcounty, Namvet69, Commemdude, oreville, Leebone, Rob41281, clarkbar04, cactusjack55, Collectorcoins, sniocsu, coin finder
Well it's still a lot better than the old days of when it seemed like your coins went into a black hole.
Never understood why a submission sometimes goes backwards in the process.
Ha. Just this morning I was refreshing my "encapsulation" page and suddenly it went to "QA." Been refreshing all day with no further luck.
Is "in process" a decent grade?
No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
Well it's still a lot better than the old days........................
you mean when 45-60 days was the norm, back when things were really humming along and the submissions were massive, more volume and more coins per order??
‘The worst part of a PCGS submission...”
For me, it is when you get a plus grade when the half grade above (that you thought was plausible) increases the price exponentially.
Now that is the type of common date gem I could easily learn to love. It puts a lot of the other 65s to shame.
WOW, PCGS must read my post. The grade just posted while it is still being imaged. 51 coin 23 DNC, the rest crossed. I am going to send more. I hate NGC holder and photo.
@ReadyFireAim .... Wow...that is one beautiful Saint.....If it were a GTG I would have guessed higher...Cheers, RickO
That's actually usually what happens: grades post before images.
On my last sub the coins arrived back in the mail before the images posted.

Cross is not cheap if you cross a lot. With PCGS crossing promotion my bill is 1605 for 51 coins. All my high price coins are not cross, so if they can cross it will be higher on the fee. Of course I would rather PCGS can cross them and I pay the fee.
OK, here's a question: My 2 coin Crossover order just went into "Encapsulation" status. Does that mean at least one of the coins crossed? If they were both DNC'd, would it go into Encapsulation, or just straight to QA???

Does that mean at least one of the coins crossed?
that's what I would think, if neither crossed they'd probably be shipped already. I'm still in hold, but based on my past submissions and "Tuesday" I expect them to post tomorrow.
I just wait until they come back in the mail.
I don't check online.
I figure I'll get them when I get them.
mannie, I applaud your patience!!!
The waiting is the hardest part...

I just figure the coin has been around 50-100 years....a month or so more is no big deal.
Actually sometimes I even forget I sent stuff off.
That is an even better surprise....well, depending on whether the graders were right (agreed with my assessment), or were wrong (did not.)😄
New Collector, learning lots just from others that submit what they believe are errors, and reading comments about what it actual is!
progress up to "QA" so it won't be long now as it seems I extend my run of Tuesday grades Posted submissions!!! I think I will only check status on Tuesdays from now on.
Mine that went to Encapsulation on Friday and QA yesterday posted this afternoon. Some winners, some losers...one very nice win.
Did you miss or did they?
But PCGS is having fun with your coins so what's not to like.
I'm looking forward to an update on your assessment regarding the current cam & dcam landscape.
