Wow. mintage only 13,000, last pre civil war HE from the NOLA mint. For a circulated gold coin, no marks worth mentioning. Great color and dirt.

Nice pickup. Set is coming along nicely...that'll be a heck of a set when you're done. Personally, I prefer sets that are done like this in a relatively narrow grade band where none of the coins stick out as being either too nice or not nice enough.

The 1890’s dates may be the most difficult to find in this grade range given how relatively common they are.

For the set I am going to have to ignore the 1909-O. Such a waste of money for such an expensive relatively common coin.

Very nice coin for the grade... well done. I was going to ask about the 1909-O, but agree... far too common a coin to justify the price levels - similar to the 1907 HR Saints.
Even though mine was a AU55 that I sold a couple years back, I like yours better Boosi - it has that look in gold that we all strive to collect. Given there are less than 100 extant, this is a really big find. Chapeau for scooping it from Doug when it came up, I will bet it would have lasted only 20 seconds longer if you had not got to it first.

That 47-O is so dang tough. 50 coins extant or so. I have seen 2-3 coins in 15 years which were worth buying.
I bought mine 12 years ago. This is when DW was listing coins on a bit more of an irregular schedule vs. the telegraphed times today. I was at my best friends wedding and woke up way too early the next AM and checked the site and bang there it was. Got lucky to snag it.
The 42-O in my set I bought the day my son was born. I was walking out of the hospital for an air break and got the email from @RYK.
Good memories.
