Just crossed these two $10 gold eagles. Time for a Covid-crusty dirty gold thread.

Thanks to PCGS Photography for the beautiful images of my 55-S and 56-S $10 Gold Liberties.

$10 gold eagles! Now, you're talkin' my language!

Congrats on the crust cross!
Perhaps surprisingly, this is the only ancient coin minted in Egypt that includes hieroglyphics on it. The reverse reads "Good Gold" and was minted under Pharaoh Nektanebo II in 361 BC:
Mongo like crusty gold.
Heck, while I'm at it, I'll add 57-s to the 55-sand 56-s to make a run of three.

In hand, the 57-s is deep, deep russet. The 56-s (above) is the Fairmont look. The 55-s (above) is quite the looker for eagles. It is a strong reddish gold. I am jealous of half eagle collectors. They get all the color. Not so for eagle collectors.
Ugly, but a tough date to find...
@burdell ...It appears I've awoken a sleeping giant. Your 55-S, 56-S, and 57-S Eagles are simply wonderful. I wasn't expecting to see these mintage years presented in this thread.
Not seeing the ugly here.
Way to go @mark_dak to make a run of four! Sorry I cannot continue the run. My 59-s, 60-s, 61s etc. are not crust-worthy for this thread. Must jump a couple years to 63-s.
I love that color! Awesome coin!
