Mmm. Dark n' crusty in all the right ways, if you ask me. Common date, modest grade, but still... sweet.

I always liked silver coins with that look but found that the "market" did not. I wonder if that attitude has changed in recent years?
It's gradually shifting, perhaps, but still only imperceptibly so.
Which is fine by me. I paid a modest premium for this one ($30 over PCGS trend price, i.e., $150 instead of $120 in this case), but if and when original CircCams ever heat up to the point where other folks start paying 2x, 3x premiums and beyond, I'm out.
I'll pay a fraction of a coin's published value as a premium for something I want, but almost never will I pay multiples of a coin's market value.

here is the OP coin, nice for what it is, but you really prefer it over the other two?? I find that perplexing.

I grade it beautiful in my eye. Too many hints at the grade have been given to make a guess really a guess, because I feel confident that I know the answer.

I'd rather have the untoned MS64 myself, but I know what @mannie gray meant. At least aesthetically, not monetarily.
I have the same sort of weird affection for nicely circulated Morgans and Walkers, whereby a really nice grey circ can strangely be more appealing to me than a blast-white MS63-64 example.
Each has their appeal, but in terms of bang for the buck, I like the PQ circs more than the BU coins. At least for certain series. Merc dimes. Walkers. Morgans.
It's just a different kind of eye appeal, is all.

I know what he means, also, which is why it's puzzling. while I "get" the circ-cam look and appeal I cannot rationalize the thinking which says it looks more appealing than the MS64 coin.
Dif'rent strokes fer dif'rent folks, I reckon. We all have quirks like that. I happen to share that particular one.
(Though in this particular case, with the white MS64 vs my blackish VF35, I'd say I like both almost equally, for entirely different reasons. Monetary value aside, of course.)

I totally agree and know exactly what you mean. It's like those Bust coins in 66 & 67...…….I much prefer a XF45 on that type of coin.
Well that crusty critter sure pops better in the true views than those MS64's.
