What are some Coin Truths that collectors seem to forget?

Stretching for a coin today, wont always guarantee somebody else will stretch for it in the future when you sell it.
If it's too good to be true it probably is!

Used to be if you stretched a little, you just needed to hold it for a while and the market would come to you eventually.
Not the case anymore.

It depends - I've had cherrypicks that I thought were too good to be true, but they weren't.

**Edit: ** "Good coin" can mean a lot of things - a valuable coin, a marketable coin, an attractive coin, a coin that you enjoy, etc. Maybe you bought a beautiful MS67 common date/common grade coin for your set, and it was cheap - more power to you!

95 pct of collectors lose money.
Here are a few that resonate with me:
-Find your optimal grade and don't chase insert numbers.
-There are few coins that you'll regret purchasing but many more that you'll regret NOT purchasing.
-Stay FOCUSED (unless you're a Type Set collector)! LOL But, even then, you must have a PLAN.
