You are looking South at San Francisco. If you were to look right (West) you would see the Golden Gate bridge. If you were to look left (East) you'd be looking at Berkeley/Oakland.
Remembering last month's visit to Nevada's Hoover/Boulder Dam located 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas and the colorful outcrops of the Aztec Sandstone at Red Rock Canyon located 25 miles west of Las Vegas.
Somewhere around the Athabasca glacier last year, Jasper National Park, Alberta. It seems far away now, and going there wouldn’t be easy. But all my family’s up there. Sometimes I feel envious of people who are born and raised around here in California who have family in their lives that are close by.

Here is a link to the Hoover Dam tour website. Looks like once tours are once again offered, it will again be possible to pay extra to go down into the dam. The less costly power plant tour does not go down into the dam.
