A grouping of Devonian era brachiopods I received yesterday. These are from southwestern Ontario, Canada, which I’m originally from. I used to collect a lot of fossils as a child in the 80s. Just a happy memory to root me in these rather bleak times.
Sure, fighter pilot is a nice job. But not always: Opening days of Operation Desert Storm on Jan. 19, 1991. US fighter jets were roaring through Iraqi airspace, and anti-aircraft crews were waiting for them with surface-to-air missiles (SAM). U.S. F-16s were trying to attack a rocket production facility north of Baghdad this day. https://youtu.be/qUjX1RntqVw
Join us as we fly our Cessna 310 IFR to St Louis Downtown (CPS) for a RNAV low approach followed by the "Arch Tour". We then fly to Decatur (DEC) for dinner. We finish the flight by landing back home at Aurora (ARR) just after the sun set.
We meet up with our new breakfast club at one of their beautiful hangar/homes at Poplar Grove Airport (C77). Join us for our first trip to this impressive fly-in community.
DEARBORN, Mich., April 23, 2020 – It won’t hurt your ears and doesn’t use a drop of fuel, but it’s projected to crush the quarter-mile in the low-8-second range at more than 170 mph. For the first time ever, Ford Performance introduces a Mustang Cobra Jet factory drag racer with all-electric propulsion. The battery-powered Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 prototype is purpose-built and projected to deliver over 1,400 horsepower and over 1,100 ft.-lbs. of instant torque to demonstrate the capabilities of an electric powertrain in one of the most demanding race environments.
This is a pitcher pump that is in the middle of nowhere.
I imagine it's an old homestead site but there is no other evidence.
It's been there as long as anyone can remember.
The amazing thing is, after one or two pumps, it ALWAYS works.

We used them on the farm for the simple fact you didn't need electric to have water. If it is in a remote area, that could be why it was installed. Both of ours required you to leave a bucket on the end of the spigot with water so you could prime it when needed.

Yes, we also have an original pump at our farm house that needs to be primed.
No priming for the one I posted.

Just found this out in the yard.
Managed to get a few more shots without getting stung.
From my walk this morning
Lost this girl 3 years ago. Couldn't replace her.
Lost this friend back in May. Imagine being able to go drinking with Larry The Cable Guy. Very funny and entertaining.
Lost my brother in January. What can I say, unbelievable feeling of loss.

So quiet... no TV, no radio...just the sound of silence with an occasional crackle of the fire!

And a white sand beach just because
All can be visited on the same day here on Hawaii Island, although, it hardly snows on Mauna Kea.
