Absolutely. Releives the stress. Im lucky enough to still have a job and being told to stay home. Im near retirement age and honestly I don't know if I want to retire. It's so boring! Even though I do have a retirement job lined up.

Very nice gold coins! I would stare at those all day as well. Stare, not stair B);)

PS I like to do the same :)

It makes me wonder, did the term bored come from a boards state of being. You know, just sitting there for years at a time, maybe attached to the stairs maybe not.
Nice Gold! I'm definitely aboard too :D

Now and then, yes. My best coins are in my safe deposit box so no chance of it. I’ll usually look at the mint sets and such that I keep at the house or coin folders. Now and then I’ll get some stuff out to take pics. Combines two things I enjoy...

The advantage of coins at home... when banks SDB's are locked down, cannot see coins.... I can look at any of mine, whenever I choose...Home security system...layers.... no worries.... sleep well. ;) Cheers, RickO

What is the deal with all the MS62 gold coins ????

    Everywhere . . all the time . . .MS62. What a WEIRD grade anyway. All I see is MS62 . . . . . so, you are saying it isn't a 61 . . . . but not quite a 63??? Sheeeeezzzz . . . I guess I will never be a grader able to make that call!!!!

    MS62 . . . the ultimate popular grade of 20th Century Gold . . . .
Seriously . . . THAT MANY coins all end up in that weird "Tweener" grade ??????????

My 36-42 Proofs and Buffalo date set, and my 1921 Peace Dollars.
I haven't looked over my Morgans for a while, might be time to liquidate some of those...

I have a ms63 Lincoln and it looks hammered. It is hammered but, not in a good way. Couldn't imagine what a 62 looks like.

I stare at whatever I can put my hands on. During the isolation I have recatalogued my Spanish Colonial collection, updated some of my contemporary counterfeit collection, looked at my Gallery Mint holdings, decided to sell some medals I have randomly acquired, reviewed my Cincinnati numismatic society collection and uncovered my elongated cents.

All in all not a bad way to spend a few extra hours.....

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

When I am bored, I frequently look at my coins, and TrueView photos online as well. I also rearrange the order of slabbed coins. Relaxing activity.

I only keep a handful of coins here at that house, usually only some low value stuff or any new buys that haven't been put into the SDB. So because the coins are in a big safe I look at all the photos of my coins instead, not quite as enjoyable as holding each but still relaxing.

Yeah and the prices are usually very tight on those low MS grades anyway so its almost a moot point

Yes, I have been doing it a lot lately, though I probably shouldn't because now I have five full submissions forms waiting on my table to be sent out. One for pre65 toned coins, one for modern toned coins, one for pre65 gem unc. and proofs, one for modern gem unc. and proofs, and another for pre65 world coins. That's ontop of the three submissions I have already turned in since the office reopened.
