I was able to fill the slot for the Arrows and Rays type of the Liberty Seated Half for my 19th Century Everyman Set. The purple hue was barely visible in the images online, and I hoped it would be more prominent in person. Sure enough it was, and I think this was is going to be a keeper. In the details, I found the area around the date to be particularly rich, so I've included a closeup of it.

Getting the colors right it a bit of a challenge as the coin seems to appear either brown or magenta in many exports. In hindsight, setting up my editing rig for 10-bit graphics was not the best choice as this makes it harder. It looks great on screen and shifts on when viewed on a regular monitor. Hopefully, this comes across reasonably true to the actual color.

If anyone wants to GTG, you are welcome to do so. I'll plan to followup by the end of the day Monday with the assigned grade.

mid range VF seems right. I like it, the slight purple hue comes across although my brain "wants" to read the toning as a having a sandy texture, which I know is not the case.

It definitely has that type of granular look. This would be one of the cases where I wish I could touch it to feel the surface.

@CPJ....Does that 'gold' colored residue really appear gold in hand? Or is that due to your color shifts in order to show the purple? Cheers, RickO

It's shifted to the red a bit, and doesn't look metallic in hand. It's a warm sand tone in hand. If I process for that color, this is about as close as I can make it. When I do that, it's fairly accurate on how the coin looks with direct light, but misses the color when you view it at an angle.

@CPJ....Thanks for the reply....Excellent picture and I see the 'sand' color now....Cheers, RickO

I tallied the votes and came up with this:

    VF25 - 2
    VF30 - 4

This coin was graded VF35 and came with a green CAC sticker. Thanks all for giving your estimates!

Yes! A VF35, and worthy of a green bean.

OK, I'll stop patting myself on the back now.

Darn it, another one with the grade posted before I could guess. But I was going to say VF30, shot 35 if the graders felt generous due to the original skin.

I'll give it a bit more time when I do it again. The originality definitely is a plus with this one.
