Wheat ears are weaker than I thought on first impression. Still, a $250 coin?

This is good thread, no? You learnt about what a 1944 D penny altered to appear as a 1914 D looks like.

My motto is try to take something with me out of each and every thread.

I really do need 1914-D. Had a nice one awhile back. Bought it raw out of a an old-time Denver coin shop. An original coin. Looking now to buy another '14-D.

There's only one known 'D' mintmark position for genuine 1914 D far as I know.

It's an altered coin, made from a 1944-D. Buy a slabbed one.

Here's a real one. Note the spacing between the "9" and the second "1."

Thanks for posting this. Good to see some people are still interested in talking about coins here.

I think this is the thread I'll be posting images of my S V.D.B. when I get it.

The OP is a good tutorial for newer collectors to learn what an altered key cent looks like... Thanks for posting that and it is an excellent picture. Cheers, RickO

If your stimulus money is going to coins then you shouldn’t be receiving the stimulus money

I recently found a receipt for one of the first coins I sold on ebay, it was a 1914-D 1C ANACS AG3 that sold for about $190. I didn't see a date on the paper but it was probably around 2010

Have the recipe handy? That looks like something I should try to make.

I'd buy cac certified reasonably priced coins. They are going to be closed a couple weeks.

My favorite coin dealer and his wife need to eat during this pandemic too. $600 to dealer for coin. Dealer buys steak and halibut for himself and wife with money from sale of coin.

By your logic, people who eat steak and halibut shouldn't be receiving the stimulus money either.

Don't have any cheddar cheese otherwise I'd make pizza burgers for myself today.
