I always enjoy reading his posts even though I don't collect 19th century gold.
Thanks for posting for those of us who don't regularly follow Doug's blog. A great read for sure.

I found it to be one of the best articles about old gold I have read in awhile. There is a ton of insight, facts and analysis.
Thanks for posting the link. I saw a number of these coins at SB’s Irvine office. The 1908D motto Indian Eagle graded MS 68 was beautiful.
I just sat there and held it in my hand, slabbed of course. It looked
perfect to me. What a pedigree.
I did not know that some experts like DW
think the 1841 Philly quarter eagle come in both proof and business strikes. That was also a treasure to behold.
Amazing sale and very entertaining commentary!
Great commentary Doug. Very thoughtful and entertaining.
Great writing as always from DW

Clarity of thought often precedes correct action. When it comes to gold, I don't think thoughts get much clearer than the ones Doug shared here. Great article, well-written, and insightful.
Awesome!

Thats a good read. Many thanks
A most interesting analysis of the extreme upper end of the market.
Beware of thin markets no matter where you stand economically in the world of collecting.
Way out of my league but interesting.
Great article... I really like seeing and reading about these great gold coins. Thanks for the link... Cheers, RickO
WOW!

I like it better than the Fox coin also but not by much.
