is anyone still buying anything?

I'm an avid collector like many here. I usually have something in the mail and my eye on the next something. I've stopped for the moment, mostly because I think my money will go farther next week, which is about my operating horizon for fun stuff like coins. I can't be the only one.

is anyone still buying anything?
This is a private poll: no-one will see what you voted for.

No changes here.
I had a burst of widget buying in January and February, but it has petered out. This might have happened anyway, regardless of the virus. I am eyeballing the equities market with concern, but the rapid collapse in Treasury bond yields is scary. Perhaps the World has changed since March 3rd (the day the FRB did the emergency interest rate cut). I can't yet wrap my head around an effective yield on the USTN 10 year bond at 0.50%. When I was thirty-five, I thought I knew a lot. Now at age 61, I don't know Jack Schmidt.
Yep, no change in buying habits. If I like it and it fits my collection, I buy it!
Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.
I've slowed way down. I've kind of reached that saturation point. I mean really....how many is enough and how many do you really need? This decision has nothing to do with the Corona virus or the market in general... it's just that I feel like I am in the advanced stages of my collecting evolution process. I was watching a coin, at auction last night, but I just couldn't justify purchasing it. There are a few that are still on my radar but I just haven't found them yet. The only time that I really buy is when I go to a show, because I want to support the dealers and I don't like to leave empty-handed, especially, when I'm spending money on meals and travel in order to go.....Seems pointless to not buy under those circumstances.

2 +3 are the same. Waiting , but if it is too good to pass on I will buy. Coin or bullion.
More selective these days, but still buying as a collector.
As long as I can get out of bed and I have a job to go to, I'm not changing.

Still buying, but with a heavy bias toward gold.

I bought a barrel of crude today. Got a great price. Gonna put it up on ebay next month.
Lance.
Beats trying to corner the market on toilet paper.

Yes, Purell, Buttwipe and lots of canned vittles.
No change here.
I’ve bought quite a bit this year. So it’s actually an increase for me overall. I haven’t bought anything in the last several weeks, though. Mostly because nothing has jumped out at me as being what I want at the right price. I have 12 coins waiting for grading right now so that’ll tide me over.
Im not seeing what i want right now. Will see later
Well, you saw the pictures of that off-metal Liberty Head Nickel Die Cap error I just bought at the Atlanta ANA. I guess that answers the question. Full speed ahead!

None of the poll answers work for me. I am still buying, but it is pretty much limited to my British kings collection and and Roman emperors. I don’t spend much time or money on U.S. coins because of the market issues.
Last week I made my first international purchase from a London coin dealer. I have gotten down to some very early kings, starting with Alfred the Great that are not often available from U.S. dealers. I met this dealer at the most recent FUN show.
No change here....Just buy what I like when I see it.....Usually when I least expect it as well....
Cheers, RickO
The dark side is calling wise collectors.
I'm not sure why I would change my buying habits.... As I've said on the board before, my collections are pretty much done but I would not hesitate to buy something else if it was interesting enough to me.
I'm going to want free shipping.

I'm trying to get down to a Box of 500, but I can't decide which ones I should sell.
I'm buying Toilet paper and offering it for $10 a roll free shipping.
All kidding aside, no my purchases have not slowed down.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
I'm looking for a widget. Do you have any pint containers of crude for sale?

Live... dropped $500 on proof sets with nice coins and toners in February.
No change in plans for Dalton in April
Enough for grading submissions to PSA and PCGS to keep me busy.

I have cut buying but will go for deals that float my boat.
Bidding has been competitive vs what I pay so obviously there are players out there still buying.
In coins..... not very much. None in fact this year. Got hooked on old toys.
This morning I'm having coin thoughts but it may just be gas.
Looking to buy in a stock market index fund in the next week or so because we are 100% in cash
Oh, how AWFUL! YES! YOU NEED SOME RISK !!!
Good luck. I would love to see that box
XOM has dropped around 10 points in about a week.
Will never see these levels again in my lifetime, but I am out of the market.

The way overbought market (two weeks ago) was super risky, that is why we have been in cash.
Very soon I want to risk that cash in the stock market.
Short term looking for 22,000 on the DOW.
I think there's AMPLE time to "get back in." I don't see any blistering economic activity.
Don't be too quck and make an ERROR
Absolutely, and thank you.
I am also looking at 18, 000 on the DOW

My most recent purchase, and last several sales, have been dark side material.
I'm slowly gaining an appreciation, mostly by studying some of the pieces acquired
through estate buys years ago that I never spent much time on before.
Must....resist.....temptation to buy more LOL!
No change. Doing what I always do. Buy a coin I really like when I see it and I can afford it.

Bought a couple of MS PCGS Major Error Coins today
Edit: Just bought another 3 certified MS major error coins, which makes 5 for today, so far
cutting way back.

Well, just found 2 gold coins I really liked so I bought them. 1861 $1 and 1903 $2.5.

I am still buying but at a slower pace than in years past, I was able to make a couple of deals just today that will fill a couple of holes in my Lincoln registry set. Very happy about that.

I ALMOST convinced myself to skip the Buena Park coin show last weekend. Couldn't do it. I love that show.
I'll be paranoid next weekend, when there is nothing going on.
No coins by mail for now. May hit my LCS tomorrow at lunch though.

Trying to broker a deal or two, looking to see what if anything falls out of the middle for my efforts.
Still buying coins because I cant stop myself, however, unless a truly amazing piece comes along I am not going to spend a lot right now. As a small business owner with overhead and a potential for a shutdown getting more and more realistic I need to save capital. Have about 4 weeks of supplies left before I have to change my business model and see only emergency patients. My supplier came in today to tell me in person they were out of mask and and were scrambling to find more, we have been dropped to 2 boxes a week right now, we see 400 patients a week on average. That equals 800 mask if we follow osha guidlines and there are only 40 level 3 mask per box.

Buying and selling. Right now it's more selling than buying, but, based on past history, that can change in an instant.
