Walmart is already planning a program like Amazon Prime. They’re basically going to follow the same business model. Expect to see more third party sellers on Walmart’s online store.

I forget which department store used to sell coins. Usually they had it in the basement level by the pets if I recall. Might have been Montgomery Ward. Never bought from them but I seem to remember they would have interesting things like ancients; nothing particularly uncommon but a way to get eyeballs on the hobby.
Anyone remember when Woolsworth had a small coin department? There would be a case with various worn type coins along with coin albums and the Red Book (and Blue Book). You could also buy magnifying glasses. Some of the coins were kind of decent- like early twenties XF Buffalo nickels and such. It was always fun to browse between having a Coke at the soda fountain and waiting while mom picked out nylons.
I bought my 1st coin from a woolworths. Think it was an 18-S Lincoln Cent.

WE know that stock photos are an issue, but collectors who are just getting started, and those who only shop on the Internet might not.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I've gotten use to dealers on the bay and elsewhere on the net with raw coins pulling this switch, as they know that very few people read all their write ups as they throw in so much garbage, but for any dealer to offer photos of a slabbed coin with all the numbers and grade available to view, this I feel a travesty. I don't know that this seller actually switches and sends replacements, but if not, why the disclaimer? Amazon, ebay and other fairly reputable companies should have a listing method of IDing coins that are not as pictured that immediately identifies this issue, such as no photo at all. Wishful thinking.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.Sold & shipped byAPMEX, Inc.
$41 cheaper just to order from APMEX.
I was browsing for some household items when it came up. Just surprised me it came up on Walmart's site.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
I don't think Amazon is a go to place for coins.
Not something that I expected but I'm not completely surprised, either.
They must have some type of partnership with APMEX.

Nice ... but I'll sick with my coin dealers.
The only coins I get at/from Walmart are in change or from the Coinstar reject slot....

Who spends $700 for a coin that is offered with a possible stock photo? Someone who can't read?
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
Not a bad price CPG $793. Just charge the card and fill the hole.
I wonder how one could get linked to Walmart online store.
They are all becoming "online marketplaces" now. Soon we can buy and sell coins at Home Depot and Sears too probably.

K-Mart had a rotating coin case in the early 70's. Located in the jewelry dept.
Some sports cards shops I've visited have used these to display sports cards.
so they cant keep hand sanitizer in stock, but they can keep coins in stock?
