My pictures are fair to middle but they depict the coin pretty accurately:

58-60.
I agree with 55. I have a 68-S that will be on its way to CAC this week.
55 and looks beautiful. Rare.

I'm gonna be in the 55 camp here. Prices for these look like they jump pretty dramatically with each grade. Nice looking coin

AU58.... First impression... and have not looked at other guesses yet.... will go back now and see how far off I am.. Cheers, RickO
This kind of was a trick question. I bought the coin raw a month ago at a favorable price and I just got it back from PCGS. The coin did not straight grade. The coin has very nice surfaces and the eye appeal is pretty good. The biggest problem with the coin is the multiple small rim dings. I was hoping it would straight grade but I wasn’t terribly surprised when it didn’t.
ouch! I think that coin would be a good candidate to get cracked out and re-submitted. From the pics, the dings IMO shouldn't have detailed this coin and the risk/reward is highly in your favor with a coin of this value....but I'm sure you already know this.
the true view reveals the damage more so than your photos do. even so, the coin looks pretty nice...so if you got a good price, you probably did well with au details for a low pop coin.
after looking at the ones on pcgs coin facts, it appears they all have some sort of rim nicks. i think the scratch in the obv field below the chin is the damage.

I remember one of these that was in a 58 holder with copper spots before they started conserving those at a Boston show Matt Westfall was offering 20 years ago. In retrospect it was a heck of a deal. Sorry for your bad luck. Surfaces don't look original to me.
