Oldest U.S. gold in your collection?

Like many collectors I appreciate the history of our coins, the buying power from the year minted, the hands it may have passed through for exchange, where it may have traveled, etc.
What is the oldest US gold in your collection and what was an interesting historical fact from the year minted? This is mine:
On Feb 23 of this year (1836) the Battle at the Alamo began. Two days later, Samuel Colt received the first patent for his revolver design. On June 15, Arkansas became the 25th state. There were 26,000 ounces of gold mined in the U.S.

Once upon a time, I had a 1799 Eagle. Prices were stagnant for many years and I sold it. Of course, then they skyrocketed.
I've got some 1834 half eagles, that's gotta be my oldest.
Mine is a 1787 New Jersey Colonial.

Mine is an 1843 o small date quarter eagle. It’s currently in NGC but going to be swapped out to PCGS soon.
In 1853 President Franklin Pierce signs The Treaty of Gadsden which the US would acquire from Mexico, the southern parts of the states known today as Arizona and New Mexico.
This is my oldest gold, a recent pickup.

I have a 1795 half eagle and a 1795 eagle. The eagle is thought to be made from the first die pair that used to strike the denomination.
One big event in 1795 was the Treaty John Jay negotiated with Great Britain over trade. It was approved in the Senate, but Thomas Jefferson opposed it because he was afraid it would link the United States to England and establish an American aristocracy. It would be one of the first issues that would establish the two party system.

Would LOVE to dig deeper, and get more...interesting. But gold premium combined with the rarity factor says I get to do Silver....

It's my favorite and oldest.

A spontaneous and relatively inexpensive purchase from a dealer friend’s ‘junk’ stock box some years ago. It kinda spoke to me, and he priced it at where I couldn’t pass it up:

The oldest that I have is an 1835 Quarter Eagle.
@skier07, wow, what am I missing, your 1795 half eagle sure looks undergraded! I might have expected a gold bean.
What is the eagle holding in its claws and beak? Those aren’t the typical arrows and olive branch that later designs include.
The PCGS Coin Facts says the eagle is standing on a palm frond and the eagle is holding a wreath in his beak. No mention of what the wreath is made of but it could be laurel.

Where in Coinfacts did you see that? I checked the writeup for the 1795 half eagle and it wasn’t mentioned (app version). Also, that really doesn’t look like a palm frond…
Waiting for Cardinal to post a Brasher Doubloon, or an original 1783 Libertas Americana medal in gold.........

Found it. Looks a lot more like a palm frond on the eagle! Wonder if it’s a nod to S. Carolina or some of the more southern states.
Don't own this one any more but was the oldest I ever owned.
