American Silver Eagle Coins - Just Bullion?

My friend with the generic silver coins, presidential dollars, etc., also has some of them in plastic holders. Got them from Littleton. 1991, 1993, 1994, 1988, 2000 American Silver Eagles. Attractive luster, no marks, slight rust colored toning on reverse rim. Is there any premium for these coins, or are they worth $15 or $20, period? Whatever he paid for them, I'm sure it was too much.
He also has 2 Mexican Silver Libertads, an Aussie Kookaburra Silver Dollar, a Canadian $5 Maple Leaf, and a Great Britain 2 Pound Britannia coin. The last 3 appear to be PF, the rest business strikes.
I'm trying to help out a friend, and don't want to take them to a bullion dealer and get screwed.

My local shop pays spot for all that stuff and sells for spot +3 or more depending on the year for the eagles. They don't really care what year they are when they are buying from you. If you look on eBay, you will see that some dates really do have a little more premium.
I sold some items like that two years ago. It was bullion and nothing more. It sells easily but don't expect to get any special premium for it.
My LCS pays spot for those and is glad to get them. Generic rounds bring less. Edit, not presidential dollars.
That what I always tell people when you buy you will pay a premium when you sell you will not get it back unless spot goes above what you paid, that just how it goes, don't pay a lot don't expect to get a lot. only advice, buy a lot while you are Young and hold on to it the rest of your life, you might make a buck or two not much for all the work sometimes.
I think the spot price right now is about $18.00 ...you may do better selling them here in the Buy Sell & Trade forum. Depending on dates, there are buyers here looking for this kind of stuff. Soooo, whatcha got for dates?

They are basically bullion, with the proof coins bringing a bit more from collectors. The ASE's are good for stacking if he does not need cash....The rest might sell for spot on the BST quickly.... Cheers, RickO
Spot, but might want to check a couple of the others. A few Kookaburra dates may carry a premium.

I sell nice bullion World and ASE slabbed 1oz Silver MS69 and MS70 all the time. Slabbed ones stack up 6 deep in showcase. It might be cost plus $5 or cost plus 50 pct. Many issues low pop. Also sell nice raw like Starwars in 2x2 from Cowans album pages cost plus $5 (strong sellers). Mexico Onza strong seller too.
Regardless, These very attractive high grade 1oz silver coins highly competetive with other products. Many super themes. Many coming in bourse room here once spent $50 are done.
In buying usually auction via As or offer deal at show.
Like the 90% silver Peace and Morgan dollars, they are just bullion.

Any retailer will tell you that they carry a premium because they aren't just bullion.
When they're buying, they're just bullion.

If you say, these are just Bullion, why are these allowed to be graded? If just Bullion, wouldn't it be wrong included to not grade ala gimmick one ouncers (Birthday, Anniversary or new baby silver coins)? These are truly considered Bullion, right?
It's funny you posted this question. Recently, I just purchased a 2 ounce Silver coin from, Limited Mintage. Only 100 made. I was wondering if these can be graded?

My LCS pays more for ASEs than generic so the premium follows them, just not all of it. Recently, buying generics at .30 below spot, ASEs varies over spot. Selling generic .70 over spot, I think ASEs about $2 over spot. It's all in knowing your local market and making decisions from there. It seems with private sales, buyers trust buying ASEs over generic or even some of the known producers. I prefer the convenience and safety of dealing with my LCS. I buy online from the trusted sources. I tried selling online, the fees eat up the profits. Not worth the time and effort involved to make a couple of extra cents per ounce IMHO. Maybe it is better here with the lower fees.
