I am planning to go to my first NY International show. Will you be there? I know a couple of dealers with whom I want to spend time.
In addition, I would like to meet more forum members. Please PM if you’re interested in a group meeting.

I’ll be at my usual table with a good selection of coins and a case of wine. Stop by and help me go home empty handed!

I'll be there on Thursday and probably one other day, depending on who else is coming and when and if we're having a forum get-together. Looking forward to meeting you in person, Lee.

I’m local and will be there every day, on and off, starting from the prior Saturday or Sunday (Heritage lot viewing).

I’ll bring some nice cheese and crackers to go with the wine.

I have never been to this show. Looks like a big deal. Can anyone tell me why is this different to other shows like, let's say, Baltimore? Just so I understand. Thanks.

It caters to collectors of world coins with many international dealers setting up at the show and a number of world coin auctions happening at the same time.

The sheer amount of world material at this show is what separates it from most of the other U.S. shows. The other huge advantage of NYINC is the dealers from outside the U.S. who travel to it. Besides the ones set up, there are many dealers from around the world who walk the floor, and it is always great seeing people you may not see at any other U.S. show.

I'm getting in the afternoon of the 16th, and heading out the morning of the 18th. So, really, only one day. More would have been nice, but those are the only days I could swing.

We stay there on occasion! I love Sanibel/Captiva. I like the bucket of shrimp at the Lazy Flamingo and sunsets at the Mucky Duck. Enjoy!

I've stayed there and actually liked Marco Island better(Maybe that's the shell collector in me as we never found much on Sanibel). Years ago we rented a Condo on Marco Island for 5 weeks before the FUN show!

Happy for you on the experiences at Captiva, but the point here is to arrange a meeting at a coin show in New York.
If you are going, please let me know thru a reply or PM. Thanks!

Sanibel Island is the most perfect place to visit in January! For many years I was able to vacation on West Gulf Drive, which has been at least ten years ago. Now that I am in the Northeast US, not so much. I miss the opportunity to be able to travel down to this little known mecca.

Now I'm thinking maybe I should blow off NYINC and go shell hunting at the beach!

Here's a link to the schedule in case anyone needs it. 8 straight days of world and ancient coin auctions. Pretty cool.

Next thing you know, Darryl, you’ll be posting pictures of airplanes, wine glasses and your dinner plate full of food like another dealer we know!
